Oh my goodness, bloempje, that's intense. I have an appointment on Nov 29 for a check-up to see if everything is okay with me. So exciting! The evaluation scan. Wishing you lots of success.
Has anyone here tried acupuncture? What did you think of it?

Exciting, j27, hopefully everything is good with you. I haven't done acupuncture, but I am curious after hearing about others' experiences.

My partner and I went to the GP with a document from my partner's sperm test from years ago (before he met me), and the news wasn't great.... In 2009, there were no sperm cells present, and in 2012, there were sperm cells, but without tails (so they couldn't swim). So, my partner and I will probably need to go to a fertility clinic (we don't know when yet), but my partner's sperm will need to be rechecked. The GP said it will likely be IVF or something similar. So, we'll just make an appointment at a fertility clinic. We just need to schedule the appointment.

Dreambaby, hang in there! It's tough, isn't it? I hope the fertility clinic helps you in a nice way and your dream comes true.

    Hi ladies,

    How is everyone doing?

Hi Bloempje, how are you? Are you still going ahead with IUI?
And how are the others doing?
I don’t have much news. We’ve taken a break for a few months. In January, we’re going on vacation for a week, and in February/March, we’re planning to start ICSI. I’m a bit apprehensive about it, but I’m trying to see it as something beautiful.

    Hi ladies,
Rest is sometimes good too, Lizzy... it's emotionally and physically tough sometimes. I understand you're dreading it, hard right! Ultimately for the right reason, but you have to get through it!
J27 hopefully positive after the blood test, then you can move forward and get a bit of rest, right!
We can't do any more IUIs right now. We had to give sperm at another clinic for a second opinion, and we're still waiting for the results. If it's positive, we can try IUI again. But according to the doctor, the chances are slim, and then we'd have to go for IVF. We've taken some time off to think things over ourselves. We want to do it somewhere, but it'll be tough and needs to fit with work too. I'm most dreading the puncture. I just don't know if we're making the right choice.

    Hi bloempje,

It took a while to reply, but I couldn't log in anymore. Do you know more about the sperm research by now?!

My blood test results are good. And because we recently had a miscarriage, after trying for another half year, we won't get any further help. If it doesn't work out by May, we'll come back.

    Hi J27,
Glad the blood test was good.
Still pretty stressful, I hope it works out without the medical world getting involved.
We got our results last week. T had climbed up, but it's a bit confusing because the tests were for IVF and they looked at our SDF for that, and our SDF was from IUI, so there's a chance it'll be lower next time at our own clinic.
For now, we're allowed to try IUI once more and then come back for a consultation. Unfortunately, I'm just missing out a bit because they're closed right now and I have to wait until probably late Jan/early Feb to do the IUI.
It's still stressful and I really have to switch gears from IVF to IUI. I had completely prepared myself for IVF.

Bloempje, that's so sweet. We hope so too. It's good that you get to try one more time. Hopefully, it works out this time and IVF won't be necessary. Wishing you lots of strength, and hopefully, you'll get help soon.
  11. Bloempje #111

J27, sweet! We hope so too! IVF is really quite a tough step to take.
But if we have to do it, then we'll do it. In the end, you're willing to do anything for it, right?
  12. j27 #112

Bloempje, I totally get you. I’d do anything for his little miracle too. Hopefully, it’s granted to us both in 2018.

    Hi ladies,

    How is everyone doing?
  14. Fatima #114

Hi Bloempje, I can feel the tension. It's tough to keep hoping and hoping. If it doesn't work out this time, don't pick it up right away. Take some time to recover. A cozy day with your husband can also help. Sometimes it's good to take a break from focusing on baby planning. Good luck.
