Tos07 thank you so much. We were so emotional, we were so happy. I hope someone can help me. It was so fantastic to know that we managed it with lower quality sperm after a year and a half. Hopefully it will happen faster this time and stay. Good luck to you all too. It was fantastic to see a positive pregnancy test now, hopefully someday I'll get to carry and raise that little miracle.
  2. Bloempje #82

J27, I also had a miscarriage last year. My cycle came back fairly quickly.
You're going to feel absolutely awful. At the time, we didn't know that my husband had low sperm count and poor sperm quality. Looking back, it was a miracle that I got pregnant.
I've also gotten my period again. The first IUI didn't work out. I had some tough days, but now I'm like, come on, let's go for it again. It's not always easy, though.
  3. J27 #83

Bloempje, yours was also a miracle. It's so sad that it didn't work out in the end. Hopefully, you'll get pregnant soon with IUI. Those weeks must feel even more nerve-wracking. You know something is in your womb, but you never know if it's implanting. Wishing you all the best, and thank you for your reply.

Hope it gets better soon for both of you. The waiting weeks for me are really miserable. It feels so incredibly long and I'm sometimes so scared!
  5. Bloempje #85

J27, you're right: those wait weeks after IUI really do feel super long, and every little sensation makes you doubt or wonder if maybe it's happening after all.
But the miscarriage was also really intense.
Are you feeling a bit better now, J27? Talking really helps—just open up to someone you trust. We kept it quiet back then, and only we knew, but I really don't recommend that to anyone.
Tos07, how are you feeling? When's your first ultrasound? I get that it's nerve-wracking.

Little flower, I thought yesterday that it was going okay. Today I had to work, but it didn't go well; I still had a lot of pain in my belly. So I told them at work. They were very kind in their response, and I'll work half-days for now until the pain is gone. They said I should stay completely at home, but then I'd worry too much. I like my job and it's good distraction. So for my body, half-days it is. I also notice that it's a relief to tell. We've also decided to tell our parents.

Little flower, did you end up telling, or still haven't?!

Tos07, I understand it's exciting. Try to enjoy it too. It's so beautiful to carry a miracle. Your miracle. I have faith in your body. I hope you'll get a nice ultrasound.

Listen to your body, j27. It's so nice that they're so sweet at work. I totally get that you're looking for distraction in that.

I'm doing okay! Really tired. And sore breasts. Otherwise no issues. I have an appointment with the midwife on November 6th, no ultrasound yet. But I do want to ask for one then, quickly. Also to ease some of the uncertainty.
  8. Bloempje #88

J27, it's so nice that they're so considerate of you at work. And I totally get that you want/need some distraction. It's really tough to go through.

Yeah, we did eventually tell them. But only after we told them we were at the ZKH (hospital). Only our parents and siblings know. We didn't tell them earlier because my brother-in-law and sister-in-law had just announced their pregnancy, and we didn't want to ruin their happiness. In the end, it turned out to be a big mistake. I still find it hard sometimes, especially since their son will be turning one in December. Ours could have been one too.

Tos07, trust your body and try to enjoy it. But I understand it's hard, and that you want to wait for the ultrasound before you can really relax and enjoy.

    Ladies, how is everyone doing?
J27, do you feel better already? Did you have a check-up today to see if everything is clear? Hopefully yes, and may you have a good cycle again like I did last year.
I’m having an ultrasound on Thursday. And I have a feeling that we’ll get our second IUI either late Friday or Monday (I don’t know if they’ll do it on Saturday). It’s always so suspenseful. And there were so many emotions all month, but I’m sure you all have those too.
  10. Tos07 Guest #90

How exciting, Bloempje. I've heard that they also do it on Saturdays and Sundays. Good luck today! Hopefully, it's the second time for you guys. Thinking of you!
  11. J27 #91

Bloempje, everything was clean and good for me. I'm getting more tests now since I got MS. To check if my fallopian tubes aren't blocked and blood tests on day 25.
What a bummer, Bloempje, hopefully it works out for you guys this round. Strength.
  12. Lizzy #92

Exciting, Bloempje! Are you doing your IUI in a natural cycle? They do it on Saturdays and Sundays here too. I'm rooting for you.
J27, is there a reason they suspect blocked fallopian tubes and how are they going to investigate that? Hopefully not. I had an internal ultrasound where they said everything looked good. Besides that, I have a period every 29-34 days, with only 2 exceptions. From that, they concluded that everything is fine. But sometimes I do think, maybe my fallopian tubes are blocked. How would you know that?
Good luck to all you girls, and I hope for lots of positive tests within a few months.
Tos07, is everything okay so far?
  13. J27 #93

Lizzy, my cycle is also very regular. It's to calculate the chances or whether we'll get help. Between day 8 and 12 of my cycle, I go to the hospital and they inject fluid into my body. Then I get an X-ray, and they see if everything is okay. On day 25, a blood test to see how much progesterone I'm producing. And then we'll see what happens next.
  14. Bloempje #94

J27, exciting with all those tests. Hopefully everything is clear. And hopefully you can move forward again for a little miracle. How are you doing yourself? Are you feeling better again? Miscarriage takes a toll on you.
Lizzy, we are indeed doing IUI in a natural cycle. Just injecting Pregnyl 40 hours beforehand, but everyone has to do that. Do you already know if you're going into your cycle?

We're allowed to do our 2nd IUI next Monday. I find it exciting but also nice, we know where we stand now. Only those exciting waiting weeks seem to last forever.
  15. Bloempje #95

Hi ladies, I need to vent a bit... I had my 2nd IUI this morning. It turns out the sperm count is really on the low side, which was also the case last time, but we weren't told back then. So now we're wondering if IUI is really the right treatment for us. We have to go back to the doctor on November 27th for a chat. It's really a letdown. We've got a lot of questions on our minds right now. The GP wasn't very hopeful back then that we'd ever get pregnant again. And now that we're in the hospital, we had more hope, until we heard this this morning. We shouldn't lose heart, but it's not getting any easier.
  16. J27 #96

Bloempje, oh my, that sounds really intense. Hopefully there are still other options for you if it's too little for you. I'll be rooting for you. And how long will it feel before you can come for a consultation. Strength.
  17. Bloempje #97

j27 it really does take a long time, luckily we've already been placed.
It's quite overwhelming at the moment with all the questions. Right now we just don't know where things stand.
  18. Bloempje #98

    How's everyone doing?
  19. J27 #99

Hi flower, my period has finally come back after my miscarriage. I'm now waiting for a phone call with the date for further tests to check if everything is okay with me.
    How are you doing?!
  20. Bloempje #100

Hi J27, normally you wouldn't be happy about your MS, but after a miscarriage, it's probably a relief, right... at least it was for me back then... anxious about further tests. Hopefully, you'll hear back quickly, so you'll know where you stand.

My MS has also flared up, and the 2nd IUI didn't work out either. We saw it coming, but it's still a disappointment. We have an evaluation appointment next Monday.

Meanwhile, my husband went to the GP. We found it strange that they thought the issue was with him but didn't do much testing. We wanted to take a step forward before the appointment. He had to provide a urine culture, and blood tests were done—all came back normal. He also had an ultrasound, and we'll hear the results soon.

Now we're waiting to see if we can continue with IUI. The process is really tough at the moment.
