Forum rules
The rules that keep the Mummable forum kind, safe and useful.
The Mummable forum works because parents help each other. These rules keep it kind, safe and useful for everyone.
Be kind
Everyone here is figuring it out, often while tired, worried or both. Disagree with an idea, never attack the person. No insults, bullying, harassment, hate or discrimination.
Share experiences, not diagnoses
Tell others what happened to you and what helped. Don't present medical advice as fact, and don't tell someone to stop or start a medicine or treatment. When something sounds serious, suggest they contact their doctor, midwife or pediatrician. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Protect your children's privacy
Your posts are public and can show up in search results. Don't share your child's full name, school, address or photos that show their face, and don't share that kind of information about other people's children either.
Respect other people's privacy
Don't post someone else's personal details, private messages or photos without their permission. That includes your partner, family and other members.
No advertising
No adverts, spam, affiliate links, or promoting your own products, services or social media. Recommending something that genuinely helped you is fine.
Keep it legal
No illegal content, and nothing you don't have the right to share, such as copied articles or other people's photos.
Moderation
We read the forum and may edit or remove posts that break these rules, and block accounts that keep doing so. Many discussions were first posted on our Dutch sister site Brabbels and translated into English; if a translation reads wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
Reporting a post
See a post that breaks these rules, or something about your child you want removed? Email [email protected] with the link to the post and what's wrong. We'll look at it and take it down if needed.
