21 and happily pregnant

So I'm 21 and pregnant. My boyfriend is 30. I've always known I wanted to get pregnant early, and luckily it happened quickly.

I'm super happy, but I'm getting totally annoyed by all the 'ladies' asking me if I'm too young and if it was planned.

YES, it was planned. Sorry I didn't wait until I'm 35 to get an IVF treatment. What kind of shitty question is that about the best thing that's ever happened to me.

Just had to get that off my chest!

Exactly the same here, let them chatter and add their question marks. As long as you stand behind it and your child can be happy with such a young, flexible mother with much more energy than a 40-year-old mother!

Same here.. I'm super happy and proud too!
I think it's actually a great age to become a mom!
I don't worry about what others think. It's really about how you feel about it yourself. If you're ready to become a mother, why wait?!

hey girl, same here! i'm 22 and my boyfriend is 25, and i got pregnant out of the blue. it wasn't planned, sure, but still, people ask all those annoying questions! and i just shut them down immediately! i answer right away: yes, it wasn't planned, but that doesn't make it any less welcome! we're so happy that things turned out this way! and we never had to worry about pff it's not working and always getting disappointed..

then they look at me sideways, but i don't care!! we're happy!!

let people talk as long as you're happy with your decisions, they have nothing to say!! those comments can sometimes be very hurtful to young mothers... but you shouldn't let it get to you, girl! think about your happiness and that of your baby!

people should first look at their own lives before they say such things to other people...

    long live young moms!!
(nothing against the older moms here, you guys do it just as WELL!!!)
and on this site, everyone respects everyone, which is also really nice!!

    lots of love

I totally relate! I'm 22 myself and get that question a lot too, like they already assume it's a mistake
I don't worry about it anymore either. There's always someone who has something to say, whether you're 21 or 30... I think that just stays that way.
I always think: as long as you're ready yourself, feel good about it, and can give the little one a stable, loving life, why would you wait?

just let them chat away... I was 23 for the first one and now 29 for the third...
Others always know how to talk about someone else's pregnancy...
    Enjoy your pregnancy!

Here too, indeed... I'm 22 and my boyfriend is 29! Age doesn't matter.. I've always said I wanted to be a young mom and everyone who knows me knows this.. Now that I'm pregnant, they're all reacting well, luckily. It was planned for me and I was pregnant within 5 months!

Let people talk, we know better
    Enjoy our little ones!

Hi there, same here! I'm 20 and my man is 34, yeah, so... We got married in August and stopped the pill in September, got pregnant right away! And of course it was planned and we're happy, all the weird questions but yeah...

    Greetings, Angelique

Go ahead and chat away! I had my oldest daughter when I was 22. It wasn’t planned, but absolutely welcome!!! Now I’m 27 and we just had our third daughter!
At the school gate, I often get comments and looks because I still look young, but I just love being a young mom!
Later on, you can still do lots of fun things because you’re so young!

    @Karolina,
First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy! Whether you're 21, 35, 40, or any other age... Have a lot of fun with your pregnancy, girl!

I became a mom for the first time at 23, then again at 28, and now at 39. By the way, I didn’t need IVF at all—it was a spontaneous pregnancy.
What you describe, I can relate to when I had my first. All those questions like, "Oh, you're so young!"
While I definitely didn’t experience it that way.
My oldest is now 16, and my youngest is just 2 weeks and 2 days old.
Do I feel old now? No, I still feel like a chick—fresh and young!

    Hey girls,

I'm 21 myself and pregnant with my second. I had my first when I was 18. I haven't always had it easy, but by not letting the comments get to me, I've gotten to where I am now.
I love my son to death and I'm happy to be pregnant with my second!
    Good luck

I'm so happy there are still so many young moms here
I'm 21 and fully in the process of preparing to get pregnant... I'm counting down to my last pill.
And by reading all these messages from so many young moms, I feel even more confident in my decision.
    So THANK YOU!

    Hi!
21 is the perfect age to have kids.
Now just count down to your last pill and then you can start
I love being a mom and being pregnant too.
Somewhere inside, I’m hoping this time it’ll be a girl.
    We’ll see, and good luck!

I was 21 (turned 22 three months later) when I had my first daughter. Now I'm 24 and gave birth to my two girls three months ago!
Both were planned and I often got comments, especially from family, saying I was/were too young. Don't listen to that, follow your heart, and it's really great being a young mom!
I do get positive feedback too.
As long as you feel good about it, enjoy it!!
  14. Robyn #15

Oh yeah, and I also got asked a lot if it was planned. And when I tell them that we were trying for 2 years and finally got pregnant through IUI, they shut up! So incredibly planned were my two kids ;-)

    hey,
what super nice to discover that there are so many "young" moms. I was 23 when I had my oldest son. The ones I have now were really planned; we had to wait 2 years for the oldest. When I talk about my boys and how old they are, I often get the question how old I actually am. When I then say that I'm 27 years old, they look at me very surprised and say "I would have guessed you were much younger." As far as I can remember, I never got the remark that it might not have been planned. I did get disapproving looks that sometimes hurt, but that was mostly after giving birth. I still don't get a beer if I don't show my ID. Then you have a bit of an idea of how most people see me. Take it as a compliment, although I sometimes find it quite unpleasant.

Just don't care about what other people say. Enjoy your wonders, it's really super to be a mom.

    Love, Nynke

With my first kid I was 20, a super age because now I'm 29 and pregnant with the second one, and I have a lot more ailments. It's nice that I can still join in with the music etc. with my son. He thinks it's super too
Don't take it to heart at all
  19. kimjoy #20

Hi there, 24 at the birth of my daughter, 2 and a half weeks ago. We also got wine, and people kept asking—seems like a trend, but girl, just do what feels right for you!
    Love and a lovely pregnancy,
    Kim
