Worried

Hi, I'm Mama Mo.

I have a question for you all. I'm pregnant for the first time with our first baby. I'm a bit worried though. Last week, when I was lying in bed at 9 pm, I felt a sort of bubble popping sound (also called plopjes) low in my belly. The midwife told me it could be our baby, but I haven't felt anything in my belly since last week. Just a bit of pain, really low in my belly and shooting through my lower back.. Is this okay? I can only call on Monday to check for an ultrasound. I just want to be sure everything is fine, but I thought I'd share my story here in case someone recognizes this.

I hope someone can help me out a bit and reassure me. Thanks in advance.

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy!

I think you should ask a doctor/midwife this question. It's known that you might feel flutters early on, but not everyone does. So not feeling them anymore doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it could also mean something is wrong. I can't tell from here, and it's not my area of expertise.

Those flutters could also have been your intestines. There's quite a bit of 'renovation' going on in your belly, and your intestines can react strongly to hormonal changes.

If you're worried, call the out-of-hours doctor for advice—they can help you best!

    Good luck!

It could also be round ligament pain. Hope your pregnancy is going well.
