Hi Ilona, welcome to Brabbels!
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Don't worry too much about it; it's all about how your body reacts and how strong the hCG hormone levels are. Every woman experiences it differently.
But it doesn't say anything about your pregnancy itself.
I felt fine during my first pregnancy too. I only realized I was pregnant because my period was late. The symptoms came later. And now I have a healthy 6-year-old daughter running around
So you see, it doesn't mean anything.
With my youngest daughter, I had symptoms very early on, even before my period was late. I had extreme hunger and severe dizziness, which is how I knew I was pregnant.
But again, she's a healthy daughter.
So it can feel completely different with each pregnancy.
Don't worry and enjoy the time when you're not yet bothered by the symptoms. Try to enjoy this time now.
Greetings, Madelene

Thanks for your reply. Finn, you're so quick... I just want to share my story again. I'm so unsure...

Sunday I took my first test, 1 day late, a Clear Blue that showed 2-3.... I do have an underactive thyroid, I'm under treatment with a good doctor and have good medication for it. Sunday afternoon, after seeing an ad, I passed it on... no other symptoms... the only thing I have are all sorts of strange feelings I feel from spots in my belly, here then there..... I feel absolutely nothing else.

Today I took another Clear Blue and today it said 3+. Does this mean it's really growing and I don't need to worry about anything? Or could it also be that it's no longer alive but still indicates it's week 5?

My mother had 1 miscarriage between my brother and me, nothing else. And my grandmother had 1 miscarriage out of 8 children... I'm very afraid I might also have a miscarriage because I feel nothing. Or do I not need to be afraid because they both only had 1? And will I get none? Or will I get many? This is my uncertainty.

    I wouldn't worry at all.
As long as the test indicates that the baby has indeed grown, that's why the test now shows 3+.
Try not to think too much about a miscarriage.
My own mother had twins when she was pregnant for the first time, two boys.
They were born too early and she lost them.
But I got two daughters and two healthy pregnancies, so that really doesn't say anything about you.
It could go very differently for you, just as well.
I understand that you're upset, but don't be.
    There's no need for it.
    Greetings, Madelene

Wrote too fast, I meant that I understand you automatically compare, but please don't do that.
    Not necessary at all.
Look at that example with my mom, I'm not the same as my mom either.

Hi Ilona, just like the others say, don't worry! I didn't feel anything until 3 months either. I was still having my period during the first few months, and only after 3 months did my breasts start hurting and stuff. I now have a healthy 4-year-old son. Enjoy your pregnancy!

    Love, x

Thanks for the sweet comments. I really appreciate more replies; it does me good.
Oh, I'm so insecure. It's my first pregnancy, and the fact that I don't feel anything yet seems kind of scary...

I had my mom's birthday today... while eating, I just couldn't handle it and started crying spontaneously. And 5 minutes later, I had to vomit. Is all this normal?

Can I also notice something myself that the little sprout in my body is alive, to reassure myself? Wow, I'm so tense. Everything feels so scary... First, I was worried about not being able to get pregnant because of a slow-working thyroid and 20 kilos of extra weight. And now I'm worried if everything is okay.

    Hi Ilona,
That sudden vomiting can definitely be a pregnancy symptom. Just like excessive crying.
I also have an underactive thyroid and gave birth to my first child last year. I had to get blood tests every 4 weeks to check my levels. Other than that, I had no issues with my thyroid at all. As long as your levels are good, you should be able to follow the entire process through with a midwife.
And I also had few symptoms at the beginning of my pregnancy. So that’s all fine.

Hi there, 5 weeks and 5 days now... since yesterday I've suddenly had sore nipples that hurt when touched... and today the stomach pain just went away...

No more crying... and only vomited twice, both times on Sunday afternoon...

I'm starting to worry again because the symptoms are going away... anyone here has experience with this?

Can someone reassure me? The overthinking is back.

Oh girl, with pregnancy it's just like that—you can feel good for a few days or weeks, and then it can turn around again for everyone. It's different for everyone. I wouldn't worry too much about it; it's all part of it.

Thanks... this is such an uncertain time, isn't it? April 29th is the first visit to the midwife, and May 7th is the first dating scan...

I've got a lot of questions. And of course, the anxiety. Tomorrow I'll be 6 weeks pregnant (42 days). I hope everything is still okay. I haven't had any bleeding yet... today I've got those twinges and dull pains down in my belly again... and sometimes a gurgling sound in my intestines... and my nipples are still sore... otherwise, no changes yet....

It's a bit nerve-wracking waiting. Time seems to drag on so slowly... and I can't think of anything else at the moment.... Is it true that if you keep thinking about it, something might go wrong??
  10. samantha #11

Oh, so exciting, the first ultrasound! Yes, it seems to be going very slowly now, but before you know it, you'll have your little hummeling in your arms. I don't think that if you think about it, it will go wrong. I hope that after your first trimester ultrasound, you were reassured and can enjoy it. I myself can't wait to be pregnant again, hihi, but I understand your insecurity too. But that will surely decrease when you see with your own eyes what is growing in your belly

That uncertainty is part of the journey! I used to doubt everything too. Looking back, it was completely pointless. But it's understandable. You want it so much. Gradually you'll get more symptoms and they'll vary too. You can read all you want, but no two people are the same and no two pregnancies are the same. After 12 weeks you feel more reassured, then you have the 20-week scan, and then you're happy to have passed 25 weeks. I'm at 33 weeks now and I'm worried whether he'll make it to the birth! There are weeks when you feel sure, happy and content, and other weeks it's not like that. The hormones can do a number on you! And the rumbling in your belly comes and goes. The baby is still so small; at 7 weeks I had an ultrasound and he was 0.9 cm. Now he's a solid two kilos ????.

Good luck. I have faith in you. Too much stress doesn't help; find distractions. You can only take good care of yourself and wait.

Honestly, I’ve never had that. I have two little girls, but I never really stopped to think that something might be wrong or go wrong.
I also don’t think you should assume that.
I can understand that some women do experience this and worry,
but I always think that more things go right than wrong.
It does go wrong sometimes for some women, but I think most have a healthy pregnancy, and that’s what you should assume.
I hope you’re feeling a bit calmer now and less anxious or unsure.
    Greetings, Madelene

Went to the internist today since my thyroid is underactive. I got blood drawn for thyroid, anemia, and pregnancy hormone to see if it's present.

Could it be that I have 3 positive home tests from different brands but get a negative result from the blood test on Wednesday?

Still very few symptoms... weird feelings and little twinges or something in my lower belly... a bit of sensitive nipples... and more tired after 9pm (could be due to the thyroid, but it was completely fine in January)

Ugh, makes me feel bad and now I'm feeling insecure again, that I might be wrong because of those 3 positive home tests...
  14. I #15

Just got a reply from the internist....

Thyroid tablets are going up to 150 micrograms.... As for anemia, everything came back clear, everything's fine... No diabetes or anything like that either.

The hCG hormone level from the blood test for the pregnancy is now 25,000.... Is this good? I'm now 6 weeks and 3 days...

Still very few symptoms.... Hoping for answers again... At least that uncertainty is gone now, knowing the hormone is in my body...

    Thanks again in advance

Here I am again... only another week and a half until the midwife, and then two and a half more weeks before I can have my first ultrasound... it still feels like such a long time in my eyes... time is dragging by so slowly.

    My symptoms for now:
× occasional tingling on the belly
× sometimes I have trouble starting to pee. I need to go, but then nothing comes out at first
× my belly is still acting up... sometimes sharp stabs, sometimes aching pain (not period pain, but that kind of pain that makes you think, should I be worried?)
× and my nipples are still a bit sensitive. But not too much
  16. I #17

So it's still worrying me a bit....

Looking forward to your responses... really curious!
  17. Eva #18

You really just have to wait and see. I do recognize that tingling feeling in the belly. I'd call it more of a rumbling. I was especially very tired; that was my first symptom in hindsight. But there are many possible symptoms. As long as you have a positive test, no period, and some physical changes, you can assume you're pregnant. But whether everything is okay, you'll see at the ultrasound. Have patience! We really don't know more than the GP or midwife.

Just been quiet for a while because I’ve been super busy.

On Friday at 7 weeks and 6 days, I suddenly woke up to find a brownish spot with a red streak, about the size of a 20-cent coin, in my underwear. I was terrified.
I immediately called the midwife, but she told me to ask my mom since you’re going on a long weekend. So I called my mom.

    1. It could have been a blood vessel
    2. It could still be implantation bleeding
    3. It could be irregular bleeding because that’s when I was supposed to get my period normally
    4. It could be a urinary tract infection
    5. It could be a miscarriage ending in a miscarriage

I got tested for a UTI at the lab, and that’s ruled out because my urine was completely clear. I called the midwife back.
Now I’m getting a call on Tuesday when I have my ultrasound. Fortunately, it’s been moved up; otherwise, it would’ve been May 7th.

For the rest of Friday, I had brown discharge twice when wiping. By Saturday evening, there was nothing more in my underwear. On Saturday, we went to Walibi, didn’t go anywhere scary, and had a nice time with my niece. But throughout the day, I had brown discharge three times. And now, Sunday so far, nothing.

Are there any here who have experience with this and how did it turn out? The worries are growing again. And I can’t enjoy it yet.
  19. Eva #20

I had that too and I was pregnant. It lasted about a day or two and was roughly like you describe. But for now, your situation isn't mine. Just wait and see.
