Hi everyone,

I'm Nienke, 26. I have no idea how far along I am yet. I kept taking the pill and then I got this weird feeling in my lower belly + my stomach got a bit rounder. Took a test and yes, pregnant. My boyfriend and I are still trying to take it all in. We both study and work in a pub. We don't have the ultrasound until next week. That feels like it's taking forever. We want to know how old our little sprout is, if it's healthy, and whaaa all the questions that naturally come with it.

We suddenly have to think about a nursery, childcare, studies, work, and telling everyone, of course.

We were really shocked but also proud and happy. Very mixed feelings.

Best, Nijntje

    Hi Nijntje,

Lots of luck with it! As long as you can give the little sprout a loving home, everything will be fine
If you're both still studying, it won't always be easy, but do you have a long way left to go? At 26, I assume you're nearing the end of your studies?
And indeed, you suddenly have to think about a lot of things, but you'll still have some time for this, like setting up the nursery. Childcare might be more urgent, as there are often waiting lists
I'd suggest you start taking folic acid now; it prevents spina bifida and cleft lip. Purely theoretically, you should have started earlier, but in your case, better late than never
Let the news sink in for now, but judging by your message, I think you can handle it and are ready for it
Once again, best of luck, and hopefully, you'll keep us updated!

    hello
we've also known for 2 days that I'm pregnant. we've been together for half a year now, and we don't live together yet. I have 2 kids from a previous relationship, and we didn't really have plans for more. but while I was on the pill, I got pregnant. We're also scared because so much is changing and we haven't been together that long. Luckily, we're both positive about it, and I find it quite special too. But I'm still a bit worried about other people's reactions. I can already imagine myself at school picking up my daughter with a baby bump, while many don't even know I'm in a new relationship. And then suddenly you're pregnant. That makes it hard for me to fully enjoy this moment. On top of that, my oldest is still dealing with the divorce, and now there's going to be even more change. I just needed to get this off my chest.

    greetings

@Rosamber I also got pregnant after being together with my boyfriend for 7 months. We were pretty shocked at first, but we were sure we wanted to keep it. Our relationship has gotten much better because of it. We were also worried about what others would say since I'm still quite young, but I don't care about that anymore. I used to want to prove to myself every time that I could do it, but now I just know I'm doing a good job. And for every first-time mom, having a first child is new, just like for us.

I really enjoyed my pregnancy, and people can think whatever they want. If you know you can give your baby love and happiness, then everything is fine!

Our little girl is now born, she's already 4 weeks old, and we're super happy with her. The people who used to talk about us and had all these prejudices now actually respect how we handled everything, especially since we both still live at home.

It's really going to be okay!

    Love, Hartje

    Hi girls,
(I'm not logged in because I'm having trouble logging in via PC, hence the guest name next to my username.)
We also got pregnant on the pill!
My partner and I have been together for almost 6 years and have been living together for 2 years.
But we weren't really ready for kids yet because our house wasn't fully finished!
I must have gotten pregnant in April 2012, but we only found out in June! I took my pill regularly and still got my period... until in June my period suddenly didn't come (I'm very regular and could (could) stick to the exact day, hour and minute... and that Thursday nothing... I told my partner immediately and he thought it was due to stress at work that it was a bit later... Sunday I still didn't have my period and mentioned it again to my partner, but he insisted it was stress! And on Monday, June 25th, I went to get a test; my partner got the early one and I couldn't hold out anymore... and sure enough, within minutes it was positive!! My partner came home and immediately called the doctor for a blood test, and on Wednesday the 27th I could go in.. In the evening they called me back with the news that I was indeed pregnant but that they thought I might have a molar pregnancy (abnormal cell growth) because my hormone levels were already around 400,000! Or that I was much further along than I thought! They immediately made an emergency appointment with the gynecologist, and on Friday, June 29th, I could go in at 8am... and there they confirmed we were pregnant and that we were almost 3 months along! I was 10 weeks and 4 days pregnant! I immediately called my partner at work to tell him, and he wasn't doing too well either haha We both had to cool down for a bit... and our girl wasn't planned but was oh so welcome! I believe it was meant to be this way.. and now our girl is already a month old and we couldn't imagine life without her at all

I'm glad to meet some girls here who are also pregnant despite the pill.. it happens more often than expected, I guess...
(I did take my pill during the month I didn't know I was pregnant! And I was very worried if this wasn't harmful etc., but our girl was perfectly healthy)

Good luck with your pregnancies and especially congratulations to all and enjoy! Before you know it, those moments will be gone!!

    Love, Daphne
