Hi everyone,
I got the news this morning that I'm pregnant, probably between 6 and 8 weeks.
Now I have to wait for an appointment with the hospital for an ultrasound.
My world has literally fallen apart under my feet.
I'm just crying right now.
Here's the situation: I've been sick for a long time and have been fighting since last year to get back into society, doing a course with an internship, and was supposed to start my own business early next year.
My relationship isn't stable enough, and we live apart.
I'm already 35, and my heart says to keep it, but my head says how? Isn't it better to terminate?
My partner is also struggling—he understands me but thinks we can't handle this. We don't have the money for my course, etc. He's thinking rationally and says not to do it.
And what about the relationship? Am I going to be alone in this?
How do I tell my family and friends? They probably think the same way.
The ideal image of being happily pregnant and sharing the joy with people around me is gone too.
I'm just letting my heart out here and hope that people have advice or have dealt with this axe themselves or know someone who has. Best regards.

    Hi Luna,

I was a bit younger than you are (27), but also unexpectedly pregnant and studying law. For me, the choice was pretty easy because when I was much younger, I had an unplanned pregnancy before and terminated it in a panic.

Now I’m a mom to a lovely little dragon of a daughter, and I can speak from experience that if your heart says keep it, the roof will fall in on you if you follow your head. I really struggled for about a year with the decision I made back then, along with all the extra questions like... what if? How would it have been?

And now I can say that an abortion was so much heavier for me than raising a child. Of course, there are plenty of women who think differently, but if your heart says keep it, I wouldn’t hesitate to question how well you’d manage as a single mom or how much happiness you’d get back.

I hope my reply helps you a bit. Good luck with your choice, and let the outside world be outside—it’s not called the outside world for nothing You need to be happy with your life in the end. And you don’t want to catch yourself walking paths that others chose for you.

Sorry for any typos, my phone is dying hihi

    Best, Mariell
