IUI with mild stimulation

Hi everyone,

After trying on my own for a year to get pregnant via a donor, we’ve now ended up at a hospital. My husband was ill and can’t father children himself, hence the donor. Last week we started injecting Fostimon and have already had two ultrasounds; everything is going according to plan, luckily. This coming Saturday or Sunday, the first IUI treatment will take place. I’m really nervous about it all. I’m 39 now and was wondering if there are any women my age who are going through this right now or have already done so with a positive result.

Best wishes, sunshine

    dearest sunshine,

I’ve gone through insemination myself, and with hormones too. I’m only 26 though. For us, it worked out after the third treatment, and I’m already over 22 weeks pregnant now.
    How did the insemination go?
Now comes the most exciting part: waiting until you’re allowed to test!

    Hi Wipeout,

Congratulations! That's such wonderful news for you two.

The insemination went well; it was already 10 days ago. And yes, now come the hardest days—waiting is so frustrating. After all the tests, it turned out that everything is fine with us, and the donor's sperm is also more than fine, so we hope it hits the mark the first time. I do think age plays a role, and that's why it might take a bit longer.

    dearest sunshine,

everything was fine with us too, but it still took 3 treatments to get pregnant. Stay positive and it could just be a hit on the first try I'm rooting for you both!

    Good luck with the waiting!
