Here I am doubting again, and very likely I'll pump after birth and store it in the freezer.
Once our baby is allowed to try drinking after the surgery, it'll get my breast milk.
Okay, not from the breast but first a bottle.
So right now it's just about getting that first breastfeed in. The risk is that the baby might not want the breast anymore after the bottle, but well, there's no other way...

Decided for good now: stopped pumping and what a relief!

No baby here who can breastfeed, and it's unclear if and when that would even be possible. I was so caught up in the pumping that even when I woke up at night, I was thinking about pumping times... Anyway, I have enough on my plate. Lucas has 4 servings frozen, and then he'll go on bottle feeding.

Gave up quickly after 2 days, but I had been doubting for so long beforehand, and I already knew I'd stop soon anyway, so why not just do it now.

I'm done with the guilt too (zh is very pro-BF, which I get), I know I'm a good mom, and it's not just about BF.

    @Dani,

Nope, if you don't breastfeed, you're really not a bad mother....
I think it shows that you and all the others who couldn't but really wanted to are good mothers too..
And even if you don't want to breastfeed, it doesn't mean you're not a good mother..
I'm breastfeeding myself but I can tell you it gives some stress now and then since Miquel hasn't reached the desired weight yet; he lost weight, gained it back, and lost it again.... Now the last weighing was only 0.05gr and that's quite little, I think...
....But it also came here because of a lot of hassle and stressss....

Now I hope that the stress and such will decrease and that breastfeeding will become fun again...

So far, here's a quick update on breastfeeding for us.

    Love, Ju

Khadija, why would it be too long? Many mothers breastfeed for a long time, and according to our faith, the Quran says two years. I'm trying to stick to that—it's good and healthy, why not!

And it's also really important that you get a closer bond with it. It's really just you and your little one, the moment, and of course skin-to-skin contact, which is really good anyway. I would recommend it to every mother if she's able to.
It's good for your health and lovely.

I breastfed our son for 13 months. We started offering solid food from 6 months using the Baby-Led Weaning method. He always got fresh, unblended food. No jars ever! After 13 months of breastfeeding, there's no need to give follow-on formula. Our son drinks regular, soy, and almond milk. He's now 2 years and 8 months old and has always been a true omnivore! He loves all kinds of vegetables and fish, for example!

Oldest was breastfed until 18 months. Now almost 8, and is a veggie and fruit junkie just like me. Second one was breastfed until 9 months. Doesn't ask for veggies and fruit, but does eat it when it's on his plate.
