Lovely
Hi everyone!

I'm 25 and pregnant with my first. Even though it wasn't planned, I'm super happy about it! Though I'll have to do it all on my own.

I'm curious if there are other single parents-to-be on the forum! I find it all really nice and exciting, and I'm interested in how you're all experiencing it. Did you choose it consciously, or like me, unexpectedly but just as happy

xx Lovely

    Hi Lovely,
I'm not alone anymore, but I was on my own twice before.
The first time was pretty tough when I was 23..
I learned a lot back then, and I felt a lot of sadness because
I felt so alone during my pregnancy and afterwards too.

Then I became a single mom again..
Also unplanned but very much wanted, though I found it quite heavy.
5 and a half years later I was pregnant again, alone, and with another man who also left me in the lurch.. I'm not looking for pity, but I felt so alone..

Now, 11 years later, I'm a mom again but with a partner..
It's been a lot of ups and downs, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy it too...
Sometimes it's fun and sometimes it's less fun.. I can only say that all aspects of being together or being alone have their charms..

    Love, Ju

    Hi Lovely,

I'm also a single mom-to-be. I consciously chose this path and am now 11 weeks pregnant with a traceable donor through a clinic. I've had several relationships, but the prince on the white horse hasn't shown up yet. I'm 35 now and so happy I made the decision to fulfill my desire for children and not (too) wait for a partner. Especially since it turned out I had fertility issues.

I wish you lots of joy in your pregnancy. Everyone has panic moments, even those with a partner ;-).

There's a solution for everything; creativity will come naturally!

I used to be a single mom myself, about 2 months before and 9 months after the birth. Now I've run into my old love, and it clicks so well. I thought I was less fertile now, but I was wrong because I suddenly got pregnant even though we didn't have sex during the fertile period. So I'm curious what they'll say at the hospital...

Hi, I'm 23 and nine weeks pregnant. Unplanned and completely unexpected. Now I've made the choice that my little miracle is welcome. Unfortunately, I'm alone in what I find absolutely terrifying. The uncertainty and fear sometimes drive me crazy, but I try to keep my head and have faith. It's nice to see/hear that I'm not the only one. Love

    Hi lovely,

I'm Mandy. Almost 24 and have a little boy of almost 6 months.
I had consciously chosen to have a baby with my boyfriend.
But when I was 8 weeks pregnant, he left me.
I had to do everything 'on my own'.
Fortunately, I had a lot of support from my mother and family.

I'm 35 now and a single mom to a 3-year-old. My ex fell in love with someone else and left me when I was 20 weeks pregnant. I've been in a long-term relationship for 1.5 years and am now unexpectedly pregnant. My partner wants me to have an abortion. I'm really torn. I'm pulling my hair out. The thought of an abortion feels awful to me, but I'm so scared I won't be able to handle it with two little kids. I've been debating this for 3 weeks and I'm now 8 weeks pregnant.

Yes, same here: 25 years old, single, now 22 weeks pregnant, and doing this pregnancy all on my own, nothing more...

I'm not standing alone. But I really think you're all power women!!! (Just had to say that)

Hi everyone, I'm now 8 weeks pregnant. My ex didn't want our child, so I went for it alone. I'm 37, so it was an easy choice for me. It wasn't planned, but I'm overjoyed with it. I completely understand you all. You miss having your partner by your side when you go to the midwife, and having to sort everything out on your own. Wishing you all lots of strength

    Hi everyone,
I'm 24 and a single mom to my 3-year-old son, and now unexpectedly pregnant (5 weeks). The guy involved absolutely doesn't want the baby, and I'm struggling with huge doubts. I already have an appointment at the abortion clinic, but deep down I want to keep the baby and can't bring myself to go through with it. I'm really torn about whether to keep it or not—can I manage alone? Will my son miss out on anything? I'm having such a hard time with this... I lie awake at night because I just can't make a decision. Are there any moms who've been through this or are going through it? What's your story?

I'm now over 8 weeks pregnant with our second... A few days after I found out I was pregnant, our relationship fell apart. I also spent a long time weighing whether to have an abortion or not... In the end, after a good talk with my parents, I decided to keep it because I'm sure that if I had an abortion, I'd have huge regrets! And as my dad said: better to have one more than to send one away. We saw a beating heart a week and a half ago, and in a week on Wednesday we're having the anomaly scan (they couldn't measure properly with the first scan, and I expect to be further along since I had bleeding which turned out to be implantation bleeding). My ex is still in the picture since we also have a little toddler of 1.5 years running around, and he's also the father of this baby...

    Hi Lovely,
Here’s a mom of 3 girls who just found out she’s pregnant.
My ex and the father of the girls left us a few months ago. Tough time, and now number four is definitely welcome despite everything. I still need to process it all; when I first found out, I had a lot of doubts because four kids, single, debts... but no, I’m going to ride it out and enjoy the pregnancy with the girls.

I'm 29 and a single mom to a 9-year-old daughter, with a little one on the way (8 weeks now).
I'm still wondering if I can handle it all, but I'm not giving up—I'm trying my best not to.
But I'm curious how others manage to pull this off?

    Hi!
I'm 25 and pregnant unexpectedly. My boyfriend doesn't want to keep it, left me hanging this weekend, and doesn't take the situation seriously at all in my opinion. It's really a slap in the face. I have my second ultrasound on Tuesday because there wasn't much to see last week. I'm 7 weeks pregnant on Tuesday. My family is luckily supportive and wants to help me, but I don't have living space for when the little one is here. I've heard from several people that applying for urgent housing isn't that easy for pregnant women anymore. I have an income and plan to work 3 days instead of 5 if I can keep the baby. I feel really dependent because without a place to live, I'd be forced to terminate the pregnancy, and I'd be absolutely devastated!!
Does anyone have experience with this or maybe some tips?
  16. Mama vanJ #17

Angel, there are organizations you can reach out to. Here's one you can contact. I'm staying with my parents out of necessity with 2 kids. Is that not an option for you?

    Hi everyone,
I'm currently 27 years old and ended up unexpectedly pregnant after my vacation.
I had a relationship with my boyfriend for 3 years, with lots of breaks in between. Back then, he wanted me to have an abortion, but I didn't choose that. Eventually, he also decided to go along with the pregnancy. We both still live at home with our parents, and the housing market here is really expensive.
We had good contact again until a week ago. I found my boyfriend at home with an overdose. He keeps up this behavior by hanging out with the wrong people. Just one week after he was in the hospital, he was already drinking again.
Because of all this, I had a miscarriage and spent 3 days in bed, without him even coming to check on me.
Now I've cut off all contact, hoping that he'll take responsibility for himself and see us as a priority. I'm now 16 weeks pregnant and feel completely alone after my traumatic experience with him. Do you think I did the right thing by cutting him out of my life?
  18. Mimi #19

    Yes!!
You did the right thing. Whether you want a relationship with someone you can't build on is up to you ! But drugs don't belong around a baby. Who knows what someone under the influence might do to a little fragile baby. So as long as he can't quit the drugs, I'd choose your little wonder. The choice is his: who he loves more.
Good luck! If you still live with your parents, maybe they'd want to help and you don't have to do it all alone.

    Hey angel!
How did it go for you? I'm in the same boat at the moment. Had the first ultrasound today. Already 9 weeks pregnant and really unsure. My (ex)partner doesn't really want it; he doesn't think we're ready for it.
