Just pregnant

Hi everyone,

I'm 32 and will be a single mom. I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant. Even though this is a conscious choice and I'm really happy about it, some moments still feel pretty tough. Those hormones really do something to a person

To make things even harder: in the past, I had an anxiety disorder and was taking half a Sipralexa tablet daily, but since I got pregnant, I've stopped. It's quite intense, especially combined with all the hormonal changes.

Does anyone have experience with either of these, or possibly the combination?

Best wishes

    Hi Char,

    Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I also chose to become a single mom.
I'm currently 34 weeks along and it's starting to feel heavy sometimes.
    But overall, I can't complain.

Having someone who can help out with the housework now and then, or just chat with you, is a huge help.
Even if it's small, silly things, like taking out the trash.
Which eventually becomes too heavy to do on your own.

Or someone who listens when you're having a hard time.

It seems more than normal to me that it feels heavy sometimes.
I don't think it has much to do with being single or not

Just don't make it too stressful and it will pass quickly again.

I wish you lots of success and enjoy it!

    Best,

    A

I was also a single mom. I didn't take Cipralex though. After my daughter was born, I started taking Zolpidem as a sleep aid, along with Dominal as a sleeping pill, Wellbutrin, and Seroquel. Being a single parent is really tough. I'm glad I have a partner now for the second one, otherwise it would have gone completely wrong. I was 5 weeks pregnant and had to stop immediately. I'd been using those pills for 2 years, so I wasn't really ready for a baby anyway. I'm now taking relaxation pills because otherwise I wouldn't be able to cope. Especially the hormones that Seroquel suppresses—yes, I have to keep those under control myself, so I recognize that.

    Greetings, Tally

    Thanks for the replies!
I'm now 26 weeks along. I've had some emotional ups and downs due to the hormones, but I'm doing well now. I don't feel like I need the medication anymore. Hopefully, everything stays this good after the birth! I'll be seeing a psychologist connected to the maternity ward once a month, so she can keep an eye on things, even after the baby arrives.
    Warm regards!

Yes, I'm still undergoing treatment, but things are getting better for me too. I don't have feelings of depression, so I'm happy. Emotionally, I'm also fluctuating right now. I gave birth 11 days ago, so everything will be fine. Everyone can go through this, so can we too.

    Greetings, Tally

Hey Tally, congratulations on the birth of your baby. Is everything okay after all the medication you took? I'm in the same situation. Did you have any extra tests? Thanks, Kate
