Anobiem... maybe take the step to see the GP.
We did the same after 12 months... what turned out... nothing abnormal... now taking some pills with hopefully a controlled ovulation.
It gives me so much peace of mind being followed up like this.

Thanks for your reply.. I've already made the appointment with the H.A. My husband's ... was checked, and it was fine. I've already had an ultrasound and had blood drawn, and that was fine too. They sent me home again with the advice to wait and see.

Ooh that's already good. We also don't have any major abnormalities, so now we can try with some hormones.
In Belgium you can take the step to the gynecologist yourself. So I'm not sure exactly what position you're in.
But definitely do what feels right for you!

Thanks ladies, how did you eventually realize you needed some extra help, dreamer? I think I'll wait another month and then go back to the midwife and push for a referral.

I finally went back to the gynecologist after two years, since it still hadn't worked out. It was she who told me this wasn't normal and referred me to a fertility clinic. She had checked my blood and stuff, but for further tests I had to go to someone else. So I did, and at my first appointment there they said two years is a really long time and were surprised I hadn't come sooner. But even they didn't find anything, except that I have a slightly irregular cycle, which a lot of women do.

    Hi ladies,
we’ve been at it for 14 months now. Because I have a longer cycle (40 days), I was referred to a fertility specialist in January. They’re currently mapping out my cycle.
I hope this will give us more insight into why it hasn’t worked out yet.

It's all so exciting... I had a short course of Provera... got my period exactly on day 10 and took Clomid the past few days... now I have to have follicle monitoring this coming Thursday.. hopefully the 50mg is enough and I can continue on my own.. so excitingdddd

Hi ladies! Good luck to everyone! I'm in the mmm group just like Trees. Finding distractions is the hardest part, especially as you get further along in the process. I've had a desire for children with my new partner since August 2015. I have two children from a previous marriage. I just finished my second ICSI cycle with no result. So I've been around in the mmm group for a while now. If you have any questions about IVF/ICSI, I'd be happy to answer them

    Hi C81,

I had my fourth and final IUI yesterday. Today I have an appointment to start IVF if the IUI didn't work. I'm feeling quite stressed. Is IVF really that much more intense than IUI? I often hear that the side effects of the hormones are less severe than those of Clomid. My doctor has told me I can no longer take Clomid because of the eye strain.

Is it unexplained infertility for you too? For us, it is, and we've been trying to get pregnant since September 2015 without any success so frustrating..

Hi dreamer, I’ve never used Clomid myself. They thought the cause was mainly with my partner. He scored too low every time during IUI. So I did 3 IUIs. 1 natural and 2 with hormones. The first time with hormones, they were too late and the IUI didn’t go through. We tried on our own and I did get a positive test, but still got my period the next day. With IVF you inject a larger amount of hormones. Plus also something to flatten your cycle, like Decapeptyl. You can get a lot of side effects from this. Headaches, very tired, hot flashes, and also quite mood swings. The hardest part of IVF for me is the two-week wait. You basically go out pregnant if you’ve had an embryo transfer. You know you have an embryo in your belly! But will it stay? You go crazy noticing any symptoms. Plus you have to use progesterone suppositories, which also have side effects. If after all this process of injections, ultrasounds, egg retrieval, and waiting it doesn’t work out, the blow is very big.
Endometriosis was also diagnosed during my first retrieval, and I’m now taking a tablet for an underactive thyroid. Now I’d really like a laparoscopy to see if there’s nothing in my uterus preventing implantation. I’ve also had scratching, but that was very difficult and painful for me, hence why.

    Hi C81,
Wow, what a story.. apparently you've also come a long way . I wish you lots of success!!
My IVF consultation is over. Going over everything, it turned out that our blood results were either lost or not tested for chromosomal abnormalities. Something must have gone wrong. So I'll have another blood test tomorrow morning, and they can only start IVF once they have those results. Now I'm getting worried again about the results and I'm afraid something serious might be wrong that they can't do anything about and it'll take six weeks before those results are in..

Otherwise, if the last IUI turns out to have failed, I'll have to start taking pills from day 2 to put everything on hold. Once all the approvals from the mutual insurance are in order, etc., they'll start the IVF process. It's quite exciting, I must say.. I'm really hoping for no too negative results regarding chromosomal abnormalities

    Hi,

We've also been trying to conceive for a while now, round 18. After 1.5 years we went to the GP and got referred. All the results were good, so we have to keep trying on our own. Quite disappointing but also incredibly happy that neither of us has any "issues"...now moving forward with good spirits and waiting for our little miracle! Has anyone else been in this situation?
