Hi Dani,
That's nice to hear that all the scans went well for you. I've also decided to have all the tests done. I'm not the youngest anymore, after all. But I have to go to the midwife tomorrow at 9 am, so I can't give you any news yet. I'll let you know as soon as I know more.
I find it all quite exciting again, especially because I didn't notice anything during the first few weeks. I wasn't sick or had any other strange symptoms. The only thing is that I already have a belly now, which is really nothing to worry about. So my husband is teasing me, saying, "Oh dear, there might be two." But we'll see. I just hope I don't get gestational diabetes this time; I did last time, and I had to inject myself twice a day. That little one was born a "sugar baby," which is really sad. But now you can't tell anymore. He's a lovely boy and almost 3 already.
Well, I'd say see you tomorrow! -

Hi everyone,
We’ve just found out we’re pregnant, almost 6 weeks now. I’m really, really happy about it. So probably due in February. First ultrasound in a week and a half. I’m really scared something might go wrong. Do you guys feel that too? I’m having a lot of pain down in my belly right now. On different sites you read that it’s a good sign. But it could also be a sign of a miscarriage. Who can help me?

Hi everyone,
Went to the midwife today, had an intake chat and went through everything.
And yet I'm doubting again whether I should do the CVS test and amniocentesis or not?
In 2 weeks I have to have an ultrasound, curious to see. And in 4 weeks I'm back at the midwife.
Still need to get my blood drawn, so I'll do that on Monday.
My blood pressure was good. Otherwise she didn't do anything.
So still no heartbeat heard, which is a bummer.
Well ladies, I wish you all a nice weekend. -

Hi, that's indeed a shame. You're hoping to hear that, aren't you? Luckily, you'll be able to see it in 2 weeks.
Why are you hesitating about the tests, if I may ask? Are you doubting the test itself due to reliability, or are you hesitant about what consequences you might want to draw from it?

Hi Renate,
Yeah, it’s a shame you didn’t hear the heartbeat either; I didn’t hear it last week either.
That’s why I asked for an ultrasound, and what happened today? Right: we ended up having an external ultrasound after all, and there we saw our baby’s heart beating!!!!!
Oh my, I felt the blood rush to my cheeks, I got so red, I mean.
My partner was there luckily, and I was glad he was.
I had worked until 1 pm, so I couldn’t really enjoy it, and at one point I really thought, “I’m going to burst into tears right here!” Didn’t do that, of course, but I was so nervous....
I said I came for an internal ultrasound, but that woman always said they try external first, and since I’m quite slim (almost was, hihi), it was spot on immediately.
“Otje” (that’s what we call our baby for now) is now 2 cm long and is due on 21-01-2013.
Just a few more weeks and then it’ll feel even safer for me.
We’re still going to have the nuchal translucency scan done for now; I’m not sure about the rest of the tests yet.
With me, they’re taking blood right away during the next ultrasound (at 10 weeks); is that not needed before then?
I did have a finger prick for blood sugar and Hb though. -

Hi Renate,
Yeah, it’s a shame you didn’t hear the heartbeat, I didn’t either last week.
That’s why I asked for an ultrasound, and what happened today? Exactly: we got an external ultrasound after all, and there we saw our baby’s heart beating!!!!!
Oh my, I felt the blood rush to my cheeks, I got so red, I tell you.
My partner was there with me, luckily, and I was glad about that.

Hey girls,
My due date is January 19th
Next Friday is my first ultrasound (dating scan).
According to my calculations, I'm currently 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant!
Since the VK only covers 2 ultrasounds, we're looking for an ultrasound center to get more scans done. Our parents and friends want to come along too
A fun ultrasound sounds amazing to me!
Symptoms: Nausea (luckily getting better now), tiredness, and sore breasts.
Being pregnant is sooooo amazing! -

Hi Bolletje,
Congratulations! Being pregnant is great, right? -
Renate74 #51
Hi Bolletje,
Congratulations! I wish you a beautiful and lovely pregnancy with as few complaints as possible.
That ultrasound is quite nerve-wracking, I have to wait a bit longer. I'm scheduled for my first ultrasound next Thursday.
I have to be honest, I feel really good, just very tired.
Besides that, I'm growing like crazy. Today I'm exactly 9 weeks, but it feels like I'm further along.
My partner is already teasing me, saying we won't be lucky enough to have two?
But well, we'll just wait and see.
I hope you can find an ultrasound center where you can get your ultrasounds done, but I think they're everywhere in the country anyway.
In any case, good luck and I'll keep an eye on you haha, since your due date is 2 days earlier than mine.
Best, Renate -

Hi!
Congratulations Bolletje! Hey, how funny Renate, I also have my first ultrasound next Thursday... in the afternoon at half past 4... I'm really so curious! As Thursday at VK for the first time... there must be something to it?? I hope we can hear the little heart... I'm growing so much too... with my first I only started showing at almost 20 weeks... and now it sometimes looks like I'm already 20 weeks... so who knows, maybe there are two for me too;-) I still haven't told anyone... first I'll wait for the VK...
I get nauseous in waves sometimes... but otherwise I don't have any discomfort anywhere... lovely! With my first I didn't really have that either... so who knows, maybe we're going for a boy again;-)
Well everyone, back to s6 and showing;-) (haha)
Love, Lief! -

Hi Renate and Lief 81,
Nice to have the three of you go to the ultrasound together!
I think I have to go next Thursday at half past 10, so that's my second one for me.
Everyone update us afterwards, okay?
Renate, is your due date also the 21st? Are we in sync with that too? That's exciting!
I went shopping for a bit, well, just looking, and I'm totally in love with the light green color... so that's what it's going to be for the baby's room.
I was completely exhausted after 1.5 hours of walking, though.
And there's a belly, cute but I still need to hide it at work from the residents. Secretly it's quite nice if they do see it, of course

Girls!!
I had my ultrasound this morning!!
Oh my... it was so beautiful and amazing!!
It took a while to get the little one in view, but in the end, it worked out perfectly.
I've been moved up by 3 days. So now I'm 10 weeks and 2 days
Saw little hands, saw little feet, saw the heart beating... truly amazing!!
I now have some kind of confirmation that I'm really pregnant... Crazy, right?
I'd love to have an ultrasound every week. The next one was supposed to be at 20 weeks, but we've decided to have one more before then anyway.
Is everything okay with you all? -
Renate74 #57
Hey Dani,
Yes, my due date is currently set for January 21st, but it could change at any moment.
On Thursday at 2 PM I have my first ultrasound, I’m really curious.
Maybe then I’ll finally get the realization that a mini human is growing inside me.
Of course, you can already see it from the outside, because it’s really not normal anymore.
I went shopping for maternity clothes and pregnancy bras yesterday with my husband.
I’ve already been showing off my breasts, but now I’m sitting at a solid 90F and that’s just the beginning.
I’ve been having some stomach discomfort these last few days, which has made me a bit anxious.
Because you don’t know yet if everything is okay, I’ll just have to wait until Thursday.
I can only hope everything is fine, but unconsciously, the “what if it’s not okay” thought keeps haunting my mind.
Maybe it’s also because a friend of mine was pregnant for a week longer than me and she had a miscarriage.
And that’s such a weird situation, well, it’s terrible. Luckily, we can talk about it well together and she has found peace with it. Of course, she’s sad, but she also says it had a reason—that my body rejected it.
But anyway, let’s not dwell on that too much and hope that we all experience a beautiful pregnancy and bring healthy mini humans into the world.
Dear girls, I wish you all a good weekend and of course, I’ll keep you posted.
Love, Renate -

Hey Bolletje
That's awesome, and it's so nice to hear that everything is okay with your baby.
I can imagine that once you've seen everything, you'd actually want an ultrasound every week.
I was lucky with our youngest that I could get an ultrasound every month, which was for trainee doctors who needed to learn how to do ultrasounds. The midwife asked if I wanted to participate.
Well, I didn't need to think long about that, hahaha.
It was a great experience.
So enjoy it, girl, and we'll keep an eye on each other here.
Have a nice weekend
Greetings Renate -
