Great tip! I'll give it a try!

Bolleke, we used to do that because the maternity nurse told us to. I did it first for feeding but then started doing it between feeds, when she fell asleep, and then she'd wake up again to continue drinking. But now with the second one, I'd only do it if the baby has pooped or if the diaper is already full. If there's just one pee in it, I won't do it anymore.

It's tricky when the little one falls asleep during feeding; that happened to us too. But as soon as you put her in the crib, she'd cry because she was still hungry. Maybe take off the socks when he falls asleep and then tickle him a bit to wake him up?

I think spacing out feeds is still too early right now. In the beginning, feeding usually just comes naturally. My daughter needed to be fed about twice a night until she was 3 months old. I thought it was a good idea to offer the breast regularly during the day, hoping she’d get enough then and need less at night. But the midwife actually gave me the opposite advice: try to leave a bit more time between feeds during the day too, so she gets used to drinking larger amounts and can do the same at night. But as I said: at 4 weeks old, I’d just go with your baby’s rhythm. Feeding should first and foremost be easy and relaxed. Good luck!
