Hi mama of J. Real period hasn't started yet. Yesterday, I had an occasional pink drop. This morning when I woke up, nothing. But I just checked inside and saw bright red blood now. I think it's going to flow throughout the day unfortunately. So far no cramps and it's not flowing heavily yet. But I can hardly believe I'm pregnant with bright red blood. Big disappointment but there's nothing else to do than go to the next round. Weird how getting pregnant is so unpredictable. For everything else in my life that I want, I can just work harder and it'll work out. But you can't work harder to get pregnant. I now understand the comment I used to hear as a little girl. You don't choose children; they come to you.

What a bummer, Veer! And yes, that saying is right: you get kids, you don’t choose them... and in that sense, you also need to be “lucky” to get pregnant...

Hi Veer, that’s really beautifully said... and so true. That describes how a lot of us here feel! I’m hoping and rooting for you for a successful round! The brown discharge stopped here after 2 days, but now I’m already having period-like symptoms (headache/starting migraine, which is very typical for me when my period is about to start), so I suspect it won’t be anything on Saturday.

    Thank you, mama vanJ
@Kathe oh, that sounds hopeful that it has stopped! In early pregnancy, you often have menstrual-like cramps, so who knows, it might be a sign. Let us know!
  5. Kathe #25

I'll keep you posted! But I've already kind of said goodbye to this round in the last few days, so I'm not feeling too hopeful about it. I'll wait and see!

It still sounds hopeful, Kathe! I'm just waiting for my period to really start, then I'll definitely be free from that uncertainty. If it does go wrong, I'll just let it happen right away. I noticed some pretty noticeable blue veins on my breasts. Last cycle I had a faint positive test but still got my period. I have the feeling the egg just doesn't have enough time to implant properly, or my mucus/blood is already breaking down. I think I'll try evening primrose oil and wheat germ oil next cycle. Anyone have experience with that?

Exciting, Veer and Käthe! I'll be rooting for you guys. When is your due date? And isn't that a sign, Veer? I think I'll have to wait until next Wednesday.
  8. Kathe #28

Thanks Mila! My period is due on Saturday. I think so. Last cycle was 30 days, but since I had a positive ovulation test on CD14, I think it'll just be a 28-day one. I'm even considering waiting a few more days before testing and just seeing if my period comes. But I'm not sure if I'll really stick to that. Good luck on the two-week wait, Mila! It's nerve-wracking, isn't it?
Veer, I don't have any personal experience with it, sorry. I did hear that acupuncture might help with blood flow to the uterus. But I have no experience with that either...

Thanks Mila Exciting, let us know later how the test goes?
Exciting Kathe, are you going to test on Saturday?
Not yet for me. I think it will only kick in when I need it. Because I haven't needed a panty liner yet either. It seems like my body wanted to tell me 5 days early to stop, but hoping it's not pregnant after all

@mama vanJ how was your experience with implantation bleeding? You mentioned it was bright red. Was it light or quite heavy, and how long did it last?
  11. Kathe #31

I think it's really a shame for you, Veer. But if your period doesn't start when you really need it to, maybe do a test anyway? You never know... I've read so many stories here about implantation being mistaken for a period... And if not, I hope it just starts soon!
I'm still not sure if I'm going to test on Saturday... Right now I'm saying: wait. But I don't know if I'll be able to hold back.
  12. Mila Guest #32

I'll definitely let you know, but first you guys! Don't give up!!
  13. Veer started this #33

Exciting, ladies! Good luck! I'm rooting for you...

Kathe, was that yours yesterday too? Are you feeling anything yet, or absolutely nothing?
From my side; period hasn't started yet... I find this really dragging on. This afternoon I saw some blood for the first time when wiping. I thought, yes, it's starting now. So I put in a mini tampon (the only one I had with me), just took it out at home and there was really very little blood on it And now nothing more when wiping. So I'm still waiting for my period... No cramps either.
  15. Kathe #35

Hi Veer, that is indeed weird. Especially since you don't have any other cramps... When was your expected period? Pity about the uncertainty, right. I totally get that you'd rather know as soon as possible now if it's not going to work out. Because right now you're just hoping and thinking about it. I don't want to 'feed' that, but maybe you should consider taking a test on your expected period date or after if your period doesn't start?

Tomorrow is my expected period date for sure, and I'm trying to stay calm about it, but it's very hard. I haven't had any bleeding or brown discharge anymore. I do have typical period symptoms though: I had some cramps yesterday (not today) and a developing migraine at times. But otherwise, I also feel quite light-headed, which is something I normally don't have. It's exactly like I've taken a strong painkiller. And my breasts feel different, not really painful, but sometimes sharp stabs and more sensitive. Well, listing everything :-D. I really don't know. It's only my second cycle after the NuvaRing, so I might need to figure out how my body is preparing for a missed period. I've agreed with my partner that I won't test immediately tomorrow, but just see if my period comes or not. If it doesn't come in the next few days, I'll test of course. I tested too early a few times last cycle, and now I already feel so negative when I think about testing, which is why I'd rather do it this way...
  16. Kathe #36

Veer, how are you doing now? Any more bleeding?
Here it's a normal NOD day, but I haven't been tested yet and so far no bleeding to be seen. Still waiting a bit, because NOD can of course happen later than what my app says.

Hi Kathe. That's great that you no longer have any brown discharge, sounds like implantation? How's the migraine today, I read you had some trouble with it yesterday. Are you going to try a test tomorrow? So exciting! And it sounds good that you still have some blood today, that gives hope!
For me: Yesterday I thought it was going to start so I had a tampon in all night, but there was only some brown discharge... So I'm still waiting. I find it quite long to have a few drops for 5 days as a precursor to menstruation. I'm also wondering if everything is okay down there. I've never had this before, I find it strange. Oh, and no cramps either. So I'm waiting with you.
  18. Veer started this #38

Oh, and my due date should be today or tomorrow.
  19. Kathe #39

I felt something this afternoon and immediately ran to the toilet. It wasn't blood, just white discharge. I decided to take a test anyway. Otherwise, I'd keep worrying about everything. And the test was negative! It wasn't an early test, but a regular CB test with fast detection. So now I'll just wait for my period, I guess. Hopefully, I can relax a bit for the rest of the weekend! Good luck, Veer. I'm really rooting for you!!!

I totally get the rush to the toilet. But no blood yet, so I'm hopeful!

I've been busy outside all day and thought, just in case it suddenly breaks, I'd put in a tampon for safety. Just a mini one, though, which doesn't even last 15 minutes during my normal period. But still nothing. I do think it's going to happen, though—I've been having occasional annoying cramps, really feeling like it's coming. And my lower back is really bothering me.
