Does anyone recognize this? Brown discharge

Hi ladies,

On May 19th I had a positive ovulation test. Now today, May 28th, I suddenly have brown discharge. That would be 7/8 or 9 dpo (depending on when the egg was released after the positive ovulation test). It's barely mixed with my white discharge. Is this an early period? (My period is due on June 1st or 2nd). Can I write off this cycle as a pregnancy? Or is there still a chance I could be pregnant? Does anyone recognize this?

    I've never had it myself, but I've read about it more often, and the chance of pregnancy is definitely not out of the question. Test in 3 or 4 days, and hopefully, you'll have clarity then.

    Hi Veer, I'm experiencing this right now too. I had a positive ovulation test on May 17th, and since yesterday I've had very light brown discharge, quite minimal. I'm already holding my breath for my period, which should come around June 1st. But I'm still hoping for a pregnancy...

    Last cycle I had this too, but more of it. Then my period eventually just came a few days later. But that was only my first cycle after stopping contraception, so I hope that was mainly due to that.

    Wait and see, and test on Saturday or... period....

    @Katie what a coincidence. I’ve been reading and it could be an implantation bleed. But last cycle it was like this too. So I’m already assuming it’s my period. I’m really upset about this Let me know if you take a test.

    Yeah, I was also thinking yesterday, "maybe it's implantation!" but I'm afraid it isn't, since it was like that for me in the previous cycle too. I'm really feeling down right now. You secretly hope it works out again, right, and then you have to put your head back in the game for the next round. I'll let you know, you do too, okay!

    Oh, silly me, I spelled your name wrong. I meant Kathe... Yeah, you want to hold onto that hope somewhere. But it doesn't look good. I'm really so upset. For us, this was attempt number 3. But I notice that the disappointment hits hard every time again.

    That's not too bad, okay! And I understand how you feel. Even though it's only the third round, it's still a heavy disappointment each time. I hope your period might hold off after all! I sometimes read here: no blood gives hope ;-)

    Yeah, it feels like forever, 3x. But yeah, I do see brown and pink discharge as blood, unfortunately.

    Sorry, I couldn't help but reply... I haven't experienced it myself (I did have implantation bleeding, but this was bright red blood). Brown blood is old blood... I hope for you that this round hits the mark!

    Thank you so much, MamavanJ. I hope it’s a hit soon! It would be lovely if this turns out to be an implantation. But I personally don’t think so, unfortunately.

    Exciting ladies! It could be anything unfortunately, and you'll never get a clear answer unless your period is late, of course. I was trying for 1.5 years and always had thick, liquid white/yellow discharge a few days before my period. I had this too when I first got pregnant. I thought, oh well, here comes the stupid period again, but it didn't come. I didn't have any implantation bleeding and didn't have any other symptoms either, so you see, it's different for everyone. But in those 1.5 years, I learned that being too focused on it can delay your period. So try not to think about it too much and definitely don't go to the toilet every 5 minutes to check if it's started haha! I know better than anyone how uncertain this makes you feel, ugh.. I hope your period stays late and that you'll have a positive pregnancy test in your hands in a few days!!

    @Veer (same name! yeah, I'll just keep going to the toilet every 5 minutes, pff haha. For me, it seems to work the other way around: the more I focus on it, the sooner my period comes. Well, last month it was later, and it turned out to be a very early miscarriage. We'll see for this round. Of course, I'm hoping for a baby. But I'm expecting my period any day now...

    Haha, I know it all too well! Oh, seriously, pff, not with me—I even put it off for 5 days once because I didn’t want to get my period while on vacation. Then, once we were on vacation, I thought, well, it doesn’t matter anymore anyway, I can’t swim anyway, and sure enough, 2 hours later, all brakes off hahaha. Hope you’re having a little one too! Fingers crossed!!

    Haha, well, it didn’t work out in my favor, haha! Nooo, I’m actually pregnant with my first baby now, haha! 15 weeks along!

    Thank you! Haha no, after 15 rounds, they were already walking in the hospital. Cycles were terribly irregular, luckily no help needed from the zh.
