I also get some rash on my face, but it’s only just started now that I’m about to get my period. It’s probably due to the hormones!

Hi ladies, how’s it going for you? I should normally be ovulating tomorrow (14 days after my last period), but the ovulation tests don’t show anything coming up… I’ll keep testing and hope it wasn’t all for nothing!

My first round of Clomid didn't work out either; I didn't have an ovulation, so now it's just waiting. I need to see the fertility specialist next Monday, and hopefully, they'll tell me if I should start Clomid again. How were your side effects?
  4. Catlady12 #24

    Hi L.
Round 1 with Clomid didn't work out. Clomid did its job, but unfortunately, no pregnancy this time.
Started round 2 on Monday, and on Tuesday I'm seeing my gynecologist, who is also a fertility specialist.
How are you doing in the meantime?
  5. L. #25

Not great those 5 days. Side effects: thirst, acne, super tired. Luckily all better now. I'm still waiting a few weeks and keep doing ovulation tests. If that doesn't work out, I'll go to the gynecologist... Round 2 still with 50 mg?
  6. Catlady12 #26

Round 1 I didn't have any thirst, but now I do!
Yes, round 2 is starting again with 50mg since it worked well last time. Also getting another Pregnyl injection, not sure when that will be yet.
I'm having some lower abdominal pain again, such a lovely side effect.
We're now working on round 3 with the gynecologist/fertility specialist. Third time's the charm hopefully

    Good luck!

    L. Shouldn't you go to the gynecologist on day 12 to see if your follicles are big enough? Then they can also tell you whether you'll ovulate or not. And they can also check if your uterine lining is thick enough for potential implantation.
  8. L. #28

No, I'm currently being treated by my GP. If it doesn't work, she'll refer me to a gynecologist.

Hi ladies, I had terrible sore nipples earlier this week (day 20 of my cycle). Because of that, I also felt like I had pain in my ovaries (or was I just imagining it?). I did an ovulation test and the line was quite red, but not as red as the control line I have to compare it to.

Today I weighed myself and suddenly I’m 2 kg heavier. I’ve always been pretty strict about my weight and do everything I can to keep it stable. So today I was quite startled and shed a few tears. Could this still be due to the Clomid, even though I took my last pill 2 weeks ago?

I’m supposed to see the gynecologist at the fertility clinic for my next period, and they’ll monitor everything closely. However, I’d really rather not take Clomid again. Is it possible that my cycle has kicked into gear on its own now and that medication isn’t needed?

You probably can’t give me answers to this, but it does feel good to let my heart speak sometimes...

    Hi L.
No idea, but I’ve noticed that I have a bloated belly after Clomid and it’s not really going away
The fertility doctor will be able to give you good information! I’m also closely monitored for fertility.

    Hi L.
I also had sore nipples, really painful, couldn’t even touch them. Changing bras was so painful, but it’s better now, so probably also from the Clomid. I didn’t gain any weight myself, but I know people who did. It’s hormones, so I also didn’t need much to bring on the tears. It’s good that they’re following up closely. Which fertility clinic are you going to, if I may ask? I’m rooting for a good result.

Did you have sore nipples while taking Clomid (for 5 days), around your ovulation, or just every day?
I'm going to the fertility clinic at UZ Jette; they also checked my husband's sperm. I have an appointment for my next period coming up. It should arrive next week or the week after, at least if Clomid does its job!

I had painful nipples after taking Clomid. While taking it, I had a lot of diarrhea and generally felt bad and very emotional. I'm also going to Jette. My next appointment isn't until June 7th. Because I reacted so poorly to Clomid, I don't have to take it anymore, and they're going to try with injections. I was relieved that I didn't have to take Clomid anymore. I'm really curious about the injections; they're going to explain everything to me then, how or what. I'm going to Dr. Verpoest. A very pleasant person with whom I immediately felt good.

I ovulated around day 17 on Clomid, so it could also be a bit later.
  15. L. Guest #35

Thank you for your answers! Did you get your period about 14 days later, or could it also take longer (like 20-30 days after ovulation)?
  16. L, Guest #36

Clomid worked and I got my period. Now I had an internal ultrasound and blood test done at UZ Jette. The ultrasound looked fine, but they told me I have 20-25 follicles on my ovaries. Could this be from the Clomid? Maybe overstimulation? Anyone else have experience with this? I didn’t get much explanation...
  17. Evitjee started this #37

Overstimulation is perfectly possible. I don't have personal experience with it since Clomid didn't work for me. But didn't the doctor explain that to you? Also, which doctor are you going to?
  18. Anonymous Guest #38

I don't know exactly. I do know that if you have PCOS, you have many follicles or whatever they're called on your ovaries. This means you don't get ovulation without stimulating follicle growth. (With Clomid, for example.) If there are too many, they don't grow.

@ Evitjee: I have an appointment with Dr. Roelens at the end of May. Who are you going to see? I haven't seen her myself yet, but my partner has because he had a sperm analysis done and he felt good about her. Now I'm really curious about the results, and I'm really wondering: is it PCOS or not? I already called the hospital for the results, but they wouldn't give them over the phone and said I should wait until the end of May. Should I try asking my GP?

Hi! I’m going to Dr. Verpoest. Also very happy with him—he’s a pleasant and reassuring person. I have to go back on June 7th, so still more than a month to wait. You could try with your GP, but I’m afraid they won’t be able to help you. But you can always give it a shot, of course.
