Hi everyone,
I gave birth to my second little pearl on 22/8 and had planned to exclusively breastfeed for 3 months before gradually weaning. I'll be starting work soon, and I can't pump at work, and my husband and I personally feel that 3 months is a good foundation. Our first daughter had the same.
Now I've been weaning since last week and have only skipped one feeding. This weekend I was also quite emotional, and my husband didn't quite understand why I suddenly found it so hard.
I feel kind of 'guilty' towards my daughter for weaning, and it also feels like the end of that first baby phase.
I've been putting off the second weaning session for days, but I'll have to do it anyway because my start date is approaching.
Who can relate to these feelings?
I had this with my first daughter too, but it feels worse now...it's also my last baby...could that be playing a role?
Crazy what a mother goes through...I've become such a softie! Geez...
Oh, just to be clear: no, I don't want to continue breastfeeding, I just want to know how other women felt about weaning.

It's all hormones, they can really drive you crazy.

Feelings of grief are normal and part of the process. Acknowledge them. Try making something for yourself as a memory, like a photo while you're feeding. Dst will then later be a beautiful reminder of a wonderful time.

Sounds like a normal feeling to me, you know. Something so beautiful and intimate with your baby. You can still try for a while to pump at work and then breastfeed after work, for example. That way you don't have to pump at work and all that. I did the same with my oldest. Couldn't pump at work, so I only fed in the mornings and evenings. The rest was formula. After that, my milk supply naturally went down, though.

I also found it hard to wean, because those little moments together are never the same afterward, like with, say, giving a bottle. That’s why I kept putting off the weaning process...
