Hey ladies..
It feels bad for you guys that you're so unsure. I felt that way too at first, but after about 16 weeks or so, I was over it. I don't really know what I can say to make you feel more confident.
The only thing I can say is that I only started feeling it properly around 21 weeks or so, while an older colleague said she felt it at 13 weeks. I really thought, yeah, bye, that's just not possible.
And it felt like my belly growth had stalled for about two weeks, while others said it was definitely growing.
Are there any more questions or other things I can help you with? I'm now 25.2 weeks along, but I'm no expert either.
I just hope you can start enjoying it, because it's such a shame. I'm very impatient myself, just counting down and calculating how much longer is left.. at the same time I think.. I'm going to miss kicking in my belly. -

Hey Joyce, thanks for your message. I hope that after 20 weeks it turns into a pink cloud. I've also promised myself to start enjoying it from then on. (But I said that at 12 and 15 weeks too, and I keep pushing the boundary). I also know people who lost their baby at 24 and 28 weeks, and friends who lost their baby to SIDS. Something can always happen, but of course you shouldn't keep thinking about that. Worry is also part of being a mother..
Ceecee, I also obsess over belly size. Normally at 20 weeks the uterus should be below the navel. I'm now 18 weeks and it's still in the same place as at 16 weeks... (I measure it daily with a ruler, freaky
)
Deep down I do think it'll be fine this time, but I don't want to be naive). -

Glad I can share a bit here. On other groups, I'm sometimes afraid of being too negative. I don't want to cause others any worries either. -

Hey girls, how's it going here now? Have you had your ultrasounds and stuff? -

Hey Joyce,
The 20-week scan was good and I've been feeling movement regularly now too. This has really eased my worries. It turns out the edge of the uterus was fine, but I didn't feel anything there. No idea which edge I was feeling then. Now I can feel the edge clearly and it's already above my belly button. In the meantime, I've completely immersed myself in choosing baby stuff and decorating the room. I'm really trying to enjoy it now. -

Hey bunny,
Oh wow, that was fast! Glad everything has been going well so far. Have you found out the gender yet? -

Yes, a girl
I already knew from around 12 weeks because I did the NIPT test. But I've never seen it on an ultrasound because she likes to sit with her legs crossed. Going back for a check-up tomorrow, hopefully then we'll get confirmation again before we paint the room pink

Still feeling really unsure about this. I’m having my 20-week ultrasound next Monday. I’m really counting down the days. I hope everything is okay with our little boy. Hopefully, I’ll be able to let go a bit more after that. I also have the feeling that the cervical rim isn’t rising anymore. I’ve been feeling him at the same height for over a week now. About 1 cm below my navel. I’m trying to find as much distraction as I can, but sometimes that’s pretty difficult. Joyce, how are you doing with your own worries? -

Yay, things are actually going really well for me. I'm at 29.4 weeks now.. next week there's a growth scan.. I'm mostly really nervous about that because we'll find out then if my placenta has moved up. If not, it'll definitely be a C-section and I'd rather not have that.
Two weeks ago, an old colleague had less good news (I'll spare you the details in case you end up awake later because of me).. another old colleague then lent me this device to listen to the baby's heartbeat. Super nice. So sometimes when I have doubts.. which actually almost never happens. I hope for the best and then I'm reassured again.
Next Friday we're going to Spain by car for two weeks. I find that pretty nerve-wracking. How often will I need to pee, can my back handle the car ride. Will everything go well with the sun. And mainly I just hope they don't get born there suddenly. That would be way too early, but she won't be the first to be born at 33/34 weeks haha -

Hey Ceecee, at 20 weeks the edge of the uterus is just below the navel, so I don't think you need to worry at all!!! Hopefully you'll feel movement soon! That really puts my mind at ease. -

Good luck with the growth scan, Joyce. Is your placenta currently low-lying? I hope it doesn’t end up being a C-section.
I didn’t end up buying a Doppler device after all. I can clearly feel the baby now, and that’s reassuring.
Ceecee, you really don’t need to worry if you haven’t felt anything yet. I had a check-up yesterday, and the midwife asked if I was feeling anything already. When I said yes, her reaction was, “Oh, that’s quite early!” And I’m already 22 weeks.
Have a great trip, Joyce! -

Oh no.. during the 20-week scan they said this baby is positioned very low (they checked extra carefully because I had bleeding the day before)
Thanks.. spent 3 hours in town today to pick up some holiday stuff.. lots of regrets.. severe band pain and now I'm even in bed (pity about that beautiful weather) couldn't take it anymore.. lying down is the only thing that's bearable now..
You guys are already comfortably past or almost at the halfway point.. then the countdown can start for you too -

Ceecee, how was the 20-week ultrasound? -
J
Joyce #115
I just had the growth ultrasound (30.5 weeks). The placenta had moved up nicely. Everything was perfect, so that's great! -
Ceecee #116
The ultrasound was good so far, thankfully. The only issue was that the baby couldn't move its heart properly because it was always in front of its little arm! So this afternoon I'm getting a bonus ultrasound. -

Super good news, everyone!
I hope the fears have already decreased by now? And that you're already feeling kicks? -
Ceecee #118
I feel a little kicking in my belly almost every day now

I was also really unsure if I was pregnant. And so on.
Last Thursday I did 2 tests, all positive. Friday morning I did one more because my boyfriend and I couldn't believe it. Until last night I had very light bleeding.. just a few drops though. Still looked up what it meant. This morning I did the Clear Blue test and it said pregnant.. so I'm so happy. We have our first ultrasound on June 29th.
This will be our first baby. -
