I'm finally going for my first ultrasound on Monday. I'll be 8 weeks I think haha. I'm really looking forward to it, but it's also a bit nerve-wracking!
Unfortunately, it didn't go well... the gestational sac measured 8 weeks but was empty. So it was a miscarriage, but my body hasn't realized it yet. Now I'm hoping it kicks in naturally, otherwise I'll have to go to the OB-GYN for a D&C or medication. Bah.
@Joyce
Pretty decent actually. I notice that I'm getting less and less sad about it, and I'm starting to feel like moving forward again; it's like a rising trend, you know I just have to wait a little while longer. My body didn't show any signs at all, so I got medication to induce the miscarriage. The medication did have some effect, but both I and the midwife suspect that it wasn't a complete miscarriage yet. So on April 12th, I have a follow-up ultrasound with the gynecologist, but I should expect that a D&C might still be needed. *sigh*. But anyway, by mid-April, I'll hopefully get the green light to try again! I'm really curious how quickly my body will pick up the cycle again.
Has anything happened in the meantime?
Hope you can move forward soon.
I think it's amazing how you're handling this. You're really strong. I don't know how I would have reacted myself. I could already cry just thinking about it.
Today is a top day haha; I called the OB-GYN yesterday, and she said: well, it should have already happened, so no, it didn't work. But sometimes it still happens a week later, so she'd really like to wait a bit more next week. Also because a D&C is never the preferred option medically.
And what does my surprise look like: out of nowhere, I suddenly lost the gestational sac this morning! So instead of almost certainly having a D&C, I now have a serious chance that it's actually okay after all. And I notice that I'm really a bit proud of my body that it did something on its own. So even if it ends up being a D&C, this feels much better. Also because I have the feeling that my body might already be cleaning up the last bits of hCG and starting a new cycle ^^
Hey, I'm almost 15 weeks pregnant now, but there's still no pink cloud. I'm struggling a lot with anxiety. I'm scared that something might still go wrong or that the baby isn't healthy. Because of this, I'm not feeling great either. I'm going to see a psychologist soon for this. How are you all doing?
Hey Ceecee, I'm also really struggling with that anxiety. We told our friends and family last week (since it's impossible to keep it a secret now). But every time someone congratulates me, it feels so bad, just because I'm still scared that something might go wrong. I keep thinking that at my next check-up, I'll hear that the heartbeat has stopped. I hope I'll feel better after the 20-week scan or once I start feeling the baby move.
Yes, I totally relate to that. When is your 20-week ultrasound? Mine is on May 29th. So still more than 5 weeks to wait. We're getting a gender determination on May 11th. I find it especially tough when people say "enjoy it." So far, I've been struggling with that.
On May 10th I have my 20-week ultrasound. You'll have to wait a bit longer, but luckily you can get another scan in the meantime. Then you'll know the gender.
I also find it annoying when people say I should enjoy it or "oh, you'll feel it moving well now!" Uh, no... I don't really feel anything yet. It makes me even more anxious; then I start thinking something might be wrong.
Sometimes I do feel happy and start looking at baby stuff, but then I tell myself not to get too excited because it might end badly again.
Yeah, I totally get what you mean about searching for baby stuff. One moment you're really browsing online, and then you think, no, don't do it. We're also waiting until after 20 weeks to buy everything. At first, my belly size grew quite a bit. But now it hasn't grown at all for two weeks. That's making me worried too.
