Hi ladies, I was wondering if your pregnancies were unexpected. I had to plan both of mine.

Hi ladies, I have a question. I sometimes hear from other women that they were unexpectedly pregnant or that it caught them off guard. I, on the other hand, had to plan both my pregnancies. I had to have sex exactly on my fertile days to get pregnant with both my daughters. So I was very conscious about it. I didn't use the pill and my husband didn't use condoms. I only got pregnant when I precisely tracked my fertile days. When we just had our first baby, we didn't want a second one yet because I could finally sleep through the night and wanted to catch up on those broken nights. Now that she finally sleeps through the night, I didn't use any protection and had sex on my non-fertile days. Then, five weeks before my daughter's first birthday, we wanted a second one. So I had to have sex precisely on days 11, 13, 16, and 17 to get pregnant. And yes, it worked. My question is: are there more women who are like this, or do you not have to put in any effort and just get unexpectedly pregnant out of nowhere? Sorry for my long explanation. Greetings, Patricia.

That’s nothing, really. It took us a long time to get pregnant because I have a very irregular or no cycle without the pill. Now we have two beautiful, healthy kids (the second one with help from a fertility clinic). The second one is now 7 weeks old!!

My son came about despite the contraception working (turns out my fast metabolism was the culprit).
My little butterfly came in the first round after the IUD was removed, not on purpose.
And now I'm over 36 weeks pregnant with this sprout. The first 3 months we tried consciously because I wanted to get pregnant quickly after my miscarriage 4 months ago. We put it aside because I was breaking down, and then it happened...
So here, unconsciously works better than consciously.

My cycles aren't regular... and I wasn't really paying close attention either.

Hi ladies, it's interesting to read that for some it happened despite contraception, and for others it was unconscious. I find that so relaxed! I always had to consciously plan it, really had to practice consciously, otherwise nothing happened. I tried just not using anything for my youngest daughter, but I didn't do my best either. And even though I didn't use anything, nothing happened—no pregnancy until I really consciously had intercourse on the fertile days during the third round. Then I got pregnant right away. I noticed right away that when I was feeling nauseous and had more cravings, I was probably pregnant. I took a test, and yes, sure enough, pregnant. In total, I was six weeks along for the second one, and at the beginning I...

not bad at all, greetings Patricia

So I knew right away that I was pregnant with the youngest.

When I started feeling nauseous, I naturally took a very targeted and planned pregnancy test. The midwife was a bit surprised when he saw how early I was pregnant. He knew I was so methodical and planned, which is why I took the test so quickly. Ha ha!

but I do wonder sometimes how it is that I have to actively try to get pregnant and it doesn't work when I don't use anything. That's strange, I think. Or do you guys happen to hit the fertile days by luck, unconsciously, and get pregnant spontaneously without even realizing it? That might be possible. Greetings, Patricia

How far along were you when you took the test?

Hi Lieke, I was 1 day overdue when I took the test. Greetings, Patricia

Oh sorry, my mistake. I mean that I tested on the day I normally would get my period, on day 28 of my cycle. I tested even though I wasn't late yet, because I could still get it that day. But I tested anyway because I had been feeling nauseous and awful for 3 days already.

And how pregnant were you then? Do you know that too? I actually got a message from someone saying I couldn't have been 3 weeks pregnant because you can only test if you're 4 weeks along.

Hi Lieke, I think I was, if I remember correctly...

I'm 2 weeks pregnant because 1 day after I tested with a regular pregnancy test, I also took a digital test from Clearblue that shows how many weeks pregnant you are. I think it said 2 weeks there. Greetings, Patricia
  15. lieke2014 #16

Yeah, I already said, of course that's possible. You also have that Clearblue digital test, and it shows how many weeks pregnant you are. I'm also sure that I can't be pregnant for more than 3 weeks. It's all still very early, so... sometimes it's quite scary. How far along are you now?

Hi Lieke, I’m talking about 2010. I now have two little girls, one is 3 and the other is almost 5. I’m currently practicing for my third. Greetings, Patricia
  17. lieke2014 #18

Oh sorry, I didn't understand that.. My apologies

    Hi Lieke, that's okay!
