13 weeks pregnant and bleeding

Hi ladies,

I'm 13 weeks pregnant now and have been experiencing some bleeding for a few days. I was told to go to the ultrasound right away to check on the baby. Everything looked normal. I'm still worried though. I haven't done anything unusual, no hard stools or heavy lifting or anything like that.

Are there any women who have had this too? I'd love to hear your experiences.

I’m not familiar with it, but I can imagine it’s really unpleasant. Hang in there, girl! There are probably moms here who have experience with it.

Bleeding is just something you really don't want to see during pregnancy. I've also had a few episodes of bleeding this pregnancy, but it always stopped after wiping after peeing. The first time was the day of my missed period—brown blood. When it didn't continue, I took a test and found out I was pregnant. Then, a bit over a week later, I had more old bleeding. At 6 weeks and 6 days, I had a good ultrasound, and the next day I had brown bleeding again. I called, was allowed to come in, and everything looked fine. At 8 weeks, I had bright red bleeding, came in, and they couldn't find anything. At 9 weeks, an ultrasound was scheduled, and everything was good. At 10 weeks, I had an extra ultrasound scheduled, and a few days after that ultrasound, I had a lot of red bleeding. I didn't want to call at first because it was Sunday, but I did anyway, and again, they found nothing. The placenta is quite low, which could be the cause, but even with a sudden movement, this can happen. Since that day, I haven't seen any blood, but I still find it scary to go to the toilet.

By the way, I was allowed to have an ultrasound so early because I had two miscarriages. And right after the second miscarriage, I got pregnant.

I'll have my 12-week ultrasound on June 15th.

So I'm not as far along as you are, but I hope my story helps you somehow. And that the bleeding stops soon.

    Hi Elfjj,

It's completely understandable that this feels so scary...

Unfortunately, I also have a lot of experience with bleeding during pregnancy. It started around 8 weeks, with days of light bleeding (meaning when wiping) to days of heavy bleeding. I had many check-ups, but the gynecologist couldn't find a cause (the placenta was in a good position). She suspects that my cervix is very fragile and that blood vessels burst under the slightest pressure. I was also admitted to the hospital for over a week for complete bed rest (around 10-12 weeks). After that, I rested as much as possible at home, and gradually the bleeding started to decrease. Fortunately, I haven't seen any blood for quite a while now. And now I'm 32 weeks pregnant!

So this can turn out well! Listen to your body and your instincts; sound the alarm if you don't trust it. And try to rest as much as possible. Unfortunately, there's nothing more you can do. Hugs

Thank you for your sweet replies, girls. You’ve all been through quite a bit too. Fortunately, I’m reading that it probably isn’t anything serious.
I’m trying to rest as much as possible and trust the process, but it’s tough when you keep seeing blood. I’m drawing strength again from your stories. Thanks!
