I'm also curious about the results.
Just one more week to wait, and then I'm going to the gynecologist too, so I'm eager to hear what they'll say, especially since I'm already 35 and early menopause runs in the family.
And it doesn't matter if you reply later sometimes, you're just done with everything.
Is your period usually 4 to 5 days now? I've had this for the first time now, and in the past weeks I've also been having my period every 2 weeks but then only for 2 days, and now for the first time for 5 days.
If all goes well, I'll get a call from the gynecologist soon about my blood test results.
Something must have gone wrong, because the results were first sent to another hospital, then to another doctor, then to my GP, and finally to the gynecologist :3
So I'm really curious! I'll post an update here later on how it went.
I'm also really curious what the gynecologist will say to you! But you've already gotten your period, right?
Just got the results of my blood test. Everything is fine.
Since nothing unusual was found during my internal exam, I have to keep trying for a few more months.
If I'm not pregnant by May/June, they'll refer my partner and me to a fertility clinic.
Good thing nothing was found, and hopefully you're pregnant this month.
Yes, I had a normal period this time, lasting 5 days. Before that, it was always 2 days, then a little bit every 2 to 2.5 weeks.
So I'm curious if I now have a regular 4-week cycle.
Alisha... I see here that you had a positive test on 3/2. Keep in mind that your egg won't ovulate yet then! Add 2 days to that to get the ovulation moment (sometimes 1 day with a short LH peak). So maybe you'll actually have a cycle of 26 days?
So you still have some errands to run today and tomorrow And if you have a normal luteal phase of 14 days, then 18/19 Feb will be your days.
Good luck!!
Hey cat89!
I was indeed already thinking that my due date might not be Feb 17 but Feb 18 or 19. Thanks for thinking along with me!
This month (since my egg was on Feb 3) it would mean I have a cycle of 26 days. The past few months it has varied from 17 days to 46 days.
Here’s a little list
June (June 16-June 17): 2 days of period (first time after stopping the pill)
July (July 12-Aug 6): 26 days of period, cycle of 26 days (day 27 first day of period)
August (Aug 30-Sep 4): cycle of 23 days (period on day 24)
October (Oct 15-Oct 20): cycle of 46 days, period on day 47
November (Nov 7-Nov 12): cycle of 23 days, period on day 24
November (Nov 27-Dec 2): cycle of 20 days, period on day 21
January (Jan 6-Jan 10): cycle of 40 days, period on day 41
January (Jan 23-Jan 27): cycle of 17 days, period on day 18
February ??? Due date between Feb 17-19 (cycle between 24 and 26 days).
So there you have an overview of the past few months ;p
@alishav
I just got back from the gynecologist. He thought he saw a cyst on one ovary and an egg cell on the other, but my lining is only 1mm.
That could mean no egg cell, but also a cyst. So he took another swab and I need to get a blood test.
Oh my goodness, that's quite intense!
Do they already have a bit of an idea of how they're going to proceed? When will the results of the smear test be available?
In 3 weeks I have another appointment, and we'll discuss the results over the phone. I need to have had blood drawn before then to check if I have enough hormones in my blood. If my hormone levels are too low, that would indicate menopause. But I still find it strange that about 2 weeks ago I had something like a period for 5 days, and then a couple of days again a few weeks later. So I don't really understand it all anymore.
Yeah, I think that’s weird too if you’ve been “period-like” for 5 days. Maybe it was some mid-cycle bleeding? Spotting? I think normally that lasts shorter than 5 days. But you never know, of course.
Hopefully, there’ll be more clarity soon for you. It’s a good idea that they’re now doing further tests right away, so if you’re in perimenopause, maybe something can still be done?
