pain on the left side, lower abdomen!

Hilma
Hi! I'm almost 37 weeks pregnant now, and I've been having a lot of hard contractions over the last few days. They're not really painful, but they are annoying because every time I move, my belly goes hard again

Lately, I've also had a painful spot on the lower left side. It comes and goes, but it's really uncomfortable.

Does anyone else have this? I'm going to see my OB/GYN this afternoon, so I'll probably get more info then, but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this?

Hi Hilma, yes, sure, I've had plenty of aches and pains (had) in the last few weeks. Just take it easy, girl, because if you get contractions when you exert yourself, that's a sign that you need to take it even more slowly.
So get ready for 4 weeks of couch lounging. And as long as you can still feel the baby well, there's usually not much to worry about, my midwife always says.

    Hi Hilma,

I was asked about this by chance during the ultrasound yesterday. Since last week, I've had quite a bit of pain on the right side of my belly after a sneezing fit, like a stripe of pain running across, you know, especially when laughing, coughing, or sneezing.

Apparently, there's a membrane around your uterus that can get a small tear. I hope I remembered that correctly, but it can't do any harm anyway; it's just really annoying and sometimes painful.

And yeah, all those ligands... I didn't know we had so many that could cause pain!!!

    Strength and greetings!

Oh ok, learned something new.. Thanks Dani..

What can also happen is that your little one kicks against your abdominal wall and literally gets bruises on the inside, which also feel like a bruise when you rub over it from the outside!! Know someone who even got a torn abdominal muscle from that!!
    Crazy right!!

What pregnancy brings with it all
that you never thought about he...

haha, just wait until you've given birth, girl, then you'll realize how many muscles you've been tensing.
For me, it felt like I had pain in my ear muscles (do I even have those)!!!

You do get to know your body during pregnancy, that's true.

Get yourself checked for a bladder infection. It might not be that, but what you're experiencing could also be from a bladder infection.

I haven't had any issues since this morning, luckily. I went to the OB-GYN again this afternoon, and she also said that it's normal. Just hang in there... According to the growth scan, the baby is already quite ahead of schedule, so this one will probably be big too. My youngest was 4760 grams at birth...

Oh, that's nice that you didn't have any issues with it.
Jee, is she already that big? My daughter was 40 grams heavier than your first. Quite a job, huh, haha.
Today we heard that our little one is slightly above average in weight and length, no problem I think.

@dani, that was my second already My daughter is 6 now and she was quite big too, 4330 grams, and my son (4) was 4760. But he was born at 42 weeks, so he had a bit more time to grow . I have to say that the birth of my son was much easier. My daughter was born with a vacuum extractor, so I had a big tear, and with my son I only had a very small tear, too small to stitch!

Oops, I missed that this is your third, right?
Mine also came after 42 weeks.

So it doesn't matter for an episiotomy or tear how big or small your baby is, it seems.
It was quite a job for me, but as it turned out, the birth wasn't so pleasant.
But well, you learn by doing, and now on to the next one!! (Can it be a little less heavy?)
