Hi everyone,
I should probably say goodnight... But in the middle of the night (during our extended weekend trip in Holland), I woke up because I had just dreamed that I was holding a positive pregnancy test.
Now, based on a 40-day cycle, I'm about 3 to 4 days before my expected period. Because of the dream, I couldn't hold back and used the only test I had (an early Kruidvat test). Now I'm completely unsure about the result since I've had false positives with this brand before. But since it was the only one available, I decided to use it anyway...
What do you all think? What are your experiences with this test?
Since this is already round 10, little miracles would be more than welcome!
Now I'll try to go back to sleep, though it might be a lost cause ????????.
Greetings!

I see a line. Careful congratulations. I'd test with Kruidvat 2v5 euro or Actiontest.

    kv2v5 is
It’s not what it used to be anymore; the Early predictor is the most tested test right now. But anyway, I see a plus on the Early so congratulations and enjoy your vacation a bit more

Thanks everyone for the replies! :-)!
Since I'm not a fan of these tests myself but only had these left, I'll definitely test with the 2for5 from Kruidvat and the early predictor again.
I hope I can hold back until Monday morning and not ruin our last day of the weekend getaway tomorrow (if negative, of course!!).
Fortunately, my boyfriend is down to earth and can help me cope with the disappointment (for now).
Thrilling times, I must say :-0!
    Greetings!

I'm curious what your test says today, Hanne! I took one yesterday and it showed a faint positive too, and this morning I tested with the predictor.
So I think it's really on target, I guess.

The Predictor is really bad advice. It even shows positive for men and cola. Haha

Action, Kruitvat, CB are still the best tests. CB needs more hCG.

This test looks pretty positive. After a bit of a wait!! You're testing a bit early.

    Congratulations!

    Hey myy03,
Looks like you hit the nail on the head! :-)!
    Congratulations in advance! :-)!
I also did tests on that same Saturday with different brands, and they all confirmed a very early pregnancy (it was still 3 days before my expected period back then).
    I’m adding a photo below.
I tested again this morning, but only the Kruidvat test from 2 days past ovulation is in my hands.
And I’m seeing a noticeably darker line this morning (I expect my period today or tomorrow).
At this point, I’m not sure which tests to trust for a reliable result, considering all the feedback on this forum, but I’m going to assume it’s correct since this is an increasing test.
Of course, I’m now scared it might still go wrong, but that’s always a fear, I guess...
I’ll test again on Wednesday, I think. :-).
Are you planning to test soon too?
Exciting! :-), is this your first baby?
    Best wishes!

Congratulations ladies. I see a line on both.

    Thank you so much!
Yes, our first baby! After almost a year of trying, this is more than welcome!
Wow, it's crazy that it's already so far along!
I'll test again on Wednesday, hoping it looks good, and then I'll get my blood drawn.
    Hoping for a positive result!

Do you also have period-like cramps? I'm so anxious that it's going to miscarry now, even though I've read that it's normal. I never had this in my previous pregnancy.
  10. proud_mommy #11

Hanne, how exciting, your first one! With us, it took about half a year. Now I'm absolutely over the moon with my little prince.

    Hey Hey,
Yes, it's super exciting for a first baby!
We are sooooo happy that after a bumpy ride (surgery for a cyst, long cycles, starting clomid, stopping clomid) we can now expect a baby.
    @proud Mommy; blessed! ENJOY!
@myy03; yes, I have that a lot too. By the way, this is pretty much the only symptom I have where I notice I'm pregnant... For now, no sore breasts, no sensitivity, no nausea... nothing.
It does make me feel insecure too.
You hear all sorts of complaints from everyone, and if you don't feel them yourself, you quickly think something's wrong.
I try not to go by that, but I notice myself constantly wanting to test to try to get rid of that insecurity.
Which is definitely not a good plan because I've already noticed that at one moment you pee more than at another, and the test then gives a "distorted" picture.
Tonight I have an appointment to get my blood drawn, and I hope to know more about my HCG values tomorrow.
For now, I try not to worry too much, although it's really not easy...
I assume you're also dealing with that insecurity?
  12. proud_mommy #13

We had two inseminations. They said we’d stop and make an appointment for the next month. But then I got pregnant spontaneously. I’m really enjoying it for sure.
Are you enjoying your pregnancy too? Let me know how you’re doing sometimes if you want, at least haha.

I didn’t have any symptoms either. Later on I got morning sickness. No sore breasts though.
  13. proud_mommy #14

Yeah, I wouldn't look it up either. It could also be that your uterus is making room for your little miracle. I didn't look anything up during my pregnancy either. Otherwise, I'd really go crazy.

    @myy003;
Out of curiosity and because I think you're about at the same stage as me, how are you doing?
    Is everything okay with you?
I'm still having those period-like cramps. Sometimes it makes me a bit unsure, but I'm assuming my uterus is growing.
Tomorrow I still need to visit the doctor to get my blood drawn again.
    Greetings

    @myy003,
Ohhh, super good news for you! I'm so happy it's going so well!
Here it's less so, and I just had a crying day behind me.
Yesterday I had my blood drawn again, and my HCG had risen and doubled, but my progesterone level dropped sharply, from 16.7 to 11.7. Since this afternoon, I've also had light brown-pink spotting, so I'm feeling quite pessimistic.
I have to start medication now to raise my progesterone, but I fear this is just delaying the inevitable...
What I was most afraid of will now probably come true.
You've been trying for over a year, you're so happy it's finally happening, and then you immediately fall from that pink cloud :-(

Does anyone see something here, or am I going crazy?
  17. Roos #18

    Lin95 I'll just do that! I'm curious!
  18. Hwensje started this #19

    @myy003;
That's sweet of you to check in :-)
After a whole week of stress and emotions regarding light brown discharge and a dropping progesterone level, I'm still pregnant.
On Monday I had my blood drawn again and the HCG has nicely risen to 21,000 and progesterone has also risen to 25. According to my GP, those are good values.
Besides that, I'm now experiencing fatigue and occasional nausea.
Now counting the days until next Tuesday for the first ultrasound.
How are you doing? When is your first ultrasound? Not too many symptoms?
  19. myy003 #20

Wow, exciting! I just had my 9-week ultrasound, still a little while to go, June 21st. I feel a bit nauseous in the mornings if I don't eat right away, and yeah, I'm often really tired, especially in the afternoons, and my breasts are sore.
