Toddler wakes up crying every night

Hi!
Our 1.5-year-old daughter has never had any sleep problems.
But for the past few weeks, she cries for a long time whenever she’s put to bed, and she also wakes up crying 5 or 6 times every night. She’s on her hands and knees when she wakes up, and if I lay her down properly, she falls back asleep right away. I’m just wondering where this is coming from.
We still follow the same bedtime routine:
drinking milk, brushing teeth, being put in bed, reading a story, and then sleeping.
Could this be just a phase? Has anyone experienced this before? Tips are welcome!

My daughter just turned 1, and at the pediatrician's office, I was told that she'll soon go through a phase where she'll probably sleep less well because she'll start dreaming more and might wake up startled from them. She doesn't have any issues with it yet, but as I understood it, it's pretty normal. Besides a consistent bedtime routine, they didn't offer any other tips, and we're already doing that. So all I can say is that I think it's just a phase.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.
We were also thinking about dreams, but it does seem strange that she wakes up so often from them and then goes right back to sleep as soon as you put her down again.
Even if you don't say anything and just leave right away.

    Hey,
My son is also 1 year old and has that period too. He sleeps very restlessly before he goes into deep sleep, usually between 7 PM and midnight. What helps him is turning on the music from his baby monitor. We also don't go into the bedroom because then the crying usually gets worse.

    Greetings,
    Nathalie
