Not had a period for 2 months, not pregnant.

Hi everyone,
I have a question.
Since January, I've stopped taking the pill to see how my body would react. After that, I had a continuous cycle of 29-34 days.
At the beginning of June, my partner and I decided to try for our first baby. My last period started on June 6th. More than 40 days later, the pregnancy tests were still negative, but I also didn't get my period. I made an appointment with my GP and had an ultrasound. Nothing unusual was found. She told me it looked like I had just ovulated and that I would get my period within 14-16 days.
However, that didn't happen, and now I've missed two periods. This has never happened before, and I'm really worried. Does anyone relate to this story?
Thanks in advance..

Hi hi... I kind of relate to your story... I stopped the pill last October and had cycles of 28-33 days... my last period was on June 18th so I'm now on day 55... the tests are all negative and I haven't been able to find any ovulation yet... I haven't been to the GP yet... after my holiday (September 8th) I'll go to the GP if I still haven't had a period by then

Sounds so relatable, still no period here either.
Curious what your GP says about it.
    Good luck with the waiting!

Same here. My last period was on June 3rd and I still haven't gotten my period yet.
I went to the GP and they said it can take more than a year for your cycle to return after stopping the pill, even if you had regular cycles before.
I tried ovulation tests, but I can't find my ovulation with them. I've started taking my temperature now, but it stays between 36.6 and 36.7, so still no ovulation found.

I’m also not using ovulation tests anymore and I’m indeed checking my temperature... I really hope my period starts this week because I’m going on vacation next week and then you’re left with that uncertain feeling that it could start any moment.

    Hi everyone,
My last period was on July 9th. About two weeks later I had a positive ovulation test from CB. It also came with quite a bit of discomfort, so I'm pretty sure my ovulation happened then.
Two weeks later (I'm already on day 38), still no period. On day 28 I had a lot of period-like pain, and on day 29 a very small amount of bleeding. Unfortunately, no positive pregnancy test either.
That uncertainty is indeed not fun, but unfortunately, there's not much else to do but be patient.

Nice to read that several people here are experiencing this! I went to the gynecologist for an ultrasound via my GP, and they told me it wasn't normal and that I should get in touch again soon to get a referral to the gynecologist if I didn't get my period.
I'll start tracking my temperature too.
Good luck to everyone! Keep us posted.

It's so weird how every doctor says something different... I called for info and they said it does happen sometimes and that I should just wait a bit... Still no period so far, so hopefully I'll get my period on holiday. That's the kind of luck I always have, haha

    Yeah, weird, right?
Haha, hope your period stays away for a bit longer...
    Have a nice vacation!

Thanks Abby, it's going to be fine... Keep us updated on what the GP is going to do? I can prepare myself a bit for after the holidays.

Sorry for all the question marks, the forum messes with my emoticons .

    Hi Mel,
Glad your period finally came! That uncertainty is tough, right? I still haven't gotten mine yet. My patience is wearing thin too, what a rotten situation. The GP is on vacation until September, and the substitutes don't think it's urgent enough?
I just ordered evening primrose oil, I've heard good things about it.. got the tip to also take maca 500 with it since it's good for hormonal balance too. Might as well give it a try?
  12. Tamara #13

Hey Abbie, does evening primrose oil also induce a period, or is it really just for shorter cycles? I've read a lot about it and also that you should only start using it once your period has started...and what is maca?
  13. Abby Guest #14

Evening primrose oil helps balance your hormones and can help you get a regular cycle. Maca stimulates the production of follicles. So it's always worth trying. I ordered it through the vitamin store, and they gave me this advice too.
You can take it throughout your entire cycle.
So yeah, just go ahead and try it out.
  14. Tamara #15

Sounds pretty positive, Abby...and you're also taking your vitamins with folic acid and stuff, right?
  15. Abby Guest #16

    Yeah, I’m taking those too!
  16. Tamara #17

Okay, I'm curious to see if it does anything to your body.
  17. MEL #18

I’m still taking folic acid as usual. I’ve read that wheat germ oil works better for good implantation, so maybe once I find my ovulation this month I’ll give it a try !
Fingers crossed these remedies work! I’m back at work today, which is also keeping me a bit distracted from everything !
Thanks for the info, Abby, it’s quite reassuring !

So today I had the feeling that I ovulated, just like 4 weeks ago. I always feel it really well. Is it possible to ovulate without getting your period?
  19. Tamara #20

That could be Abby, then you just had a very late ovulation... I've had that feeling twice already since my last period but my temperature stayed low so I don't think it has ovulated.
