Signs of labor?

Hey hey, did you have any signs on the day of birth? Rumbling in the belly or something else that you could see coming in hindsight? Or did your waters break unexpectedly? I'm super curious!! I'm 38 weeks pregnant myself tomorrow.

I wasn't in a rush to pack my "go-bag". Only the evening before I went to the hospital did I suddenly feel like I had to have it ready. Good thing, because I needed it the next day I had small leaks of amniotic fluid from the morning and just had an uneasy feeling in my body Soon you'll be able to hold your little one in your arms Wishing you a beautiful, smooth birth

Yeah, had annoying hard contractions all day. Not regular, but more frequent and painful than usual. Those hard contractions suddenly turned into real labor around 10 pm, and 4 hours later my daughter was here.

With my first baby, my waters broke spontaneously, labor started right away, and she was here 8 hours later.

My son was born on January 7th, and on January 6th I had cramps all day... those were probably early contractions . I didn't pay much attention to them. There was no regularity either. The next day, early in the morning, I had more intense contractions, and by 2:30 PM I was already 10 cm dilated... quite fast for a first baby! My son was born at 3 PM in our own bed. A beautiful experience! Strength and success. My golden tips are to seek relaxation and distraction!

Thanks for your replies! I'm super curious! I'm having a scheduled C-section in a week... but if my waters break or anything happens, it'll be earlier of course! Since I know it could happen any moment, I find the whole thing incredibly nerve-wracking.. Do I just wait it out or does it start suddenly? So exciting!! I do enjoy reading about others' experiences!

I had to go to the bathroom a lot to poop in the days leading up to it. I didn't think much of it at the time, but looking back, those were the first signs that it had started for me.

Looks like it's different for everyone then... I'm really at the final stretch now, 39 weeks and completely worn out. I've felt sick for 2 days now. No energy or strength in my body, nauseous, no appetite, and diarrhea... no fever, and at times I suddenly feel great again. Lots of cramping and hardening of the belly, sometimes so intense that I think, could it be?! Hopefully it kicks in these days. I'm really curious to meet the little one.
