The birth
C-section at Sint-Vincentius (Antwerp) - Any experiences?
Liesje
I’m expecting our first baby in September, but the baby is currently in breech position. According to our gynecologist, the chances of the baby turning on its own are slim, and a manual version has little chance of success since it’s our first baby and I have low amniotic fluid. At Sint-Vincentius (Antwerp), they offer the option for a breech delivery, but for a first baby, they’re not so enthusiastic about it due to the considerable risks involved. In other words, we need to prepare for a C-section.
Has anyone here had experience with a C-section at Sint-Vincentius? Because I understand that despite being baby-friendly, they still separate you from your baby while you’re recovering, and that can take quite a while (I’ve read stories of several hours...). And to be honest, I’m not really looking forward to that.
