No cervical mucus after an early miscarriage?

Hi,

I had an early miscarriage last month. I was about a week late, so roughly 5 weeks pregnant. (I was 4 days late when I got a positive test at the doctor's, but my hormone levels were way too low for how far along I was, so something was likely wrong with the implantation. I actually had a suspicion because I had sore breasts and felt nauseous, but all those symptoms 'disappeared' the day of the test. I went to the doctor because I had a bladder infection; otherwise, I wouldn't have tested.)

On Friday, I went to see the gynecologist to check if everything was okay. He told me he didn't see any cervical mucus and thought I hadn't ovulated yet after the miscarriage. But I'm pretty sure I did. I've had really bad pain on one side and have tested this several times with ovulation tests. I tested negative the days before, had the pain, and then took a test as a 'check' which was clearly positive. I just haven't tested this month.

Now I wanted to ask if there are any other women who have experienced this after an early miscarriage?

I felt seriously misunderstood by the gynecologist. I waited an hour and a half, he had a difficult delivery, and he basically rushed me out.

I had several questions but couldn't ask any of them because I started bleeding from the lining, and before I knew it, I was already outside.

According to an ovulation predictor, I should have implanted on the 9th, and on the 11th I had some bleeding (a little bit, pinkish). But I think this could be due to the internal ultrasound? Though when I Google it, I get the answer that I'm pregnant.. haha, which I think is pretty illogical since there's no mucus present

I should be getting my period back tomorrow or Tuesday.

Sorry for my question, but I'm really worried about it I have an autoimmune disease and have always been afraid of not being able to get pregnant, so this fear is creeping back in..

We've been 'trying' for 5 months now.

Best,
Marie

    Hi there

I don't want to discourage you, but I've also had positive ovulation tests regularly and I didn't ovulate! I do have a hormone imbalance, which was most likely the reason those tests went haywire. Maybe your hormones are still a bit off after that early miscarriage.

If you have little to no BBT rise, the chance that you're pregnant is indeed nil. Even if you had ovulated, any fertilized egg wouldn't be able to implant...

It's really tough that you feel so misunderstood. I'd make another appointment with the gynecologist or GP to ask your unanswered questions.

    Good luck

I have the (un)luck that I really feel pain during ovulation, so I'm sure I had one this month. I didn't test this month I wish I didn't feel everything so much, but apparently I have a 'sensitive' uterus.

Yeah, it also seemed logical to me that it couldn't implant. But it can still take months before they finally find out why it's not working to keep a fertilized egg. I don't want to have 5 positive tests either and then hear that there's something wrong with the implantation.

I'm going to do that too, I'm going to make an appointment with my sister-in-law's gynecologist. I wanted to go there now too, but he only does pregnancies at the hospital. Only in his private practice does he also do regular check-ups.

Just wanted to let you know that I spoke with my gynecologist today because my period has started, and the medical process is now underway. Next Friday I'm back for an ultrasound, hormone tests, etc.

glad you got your period, that means that part of your cycle is fine.
also the fact that you got pregnant after 5 months is a good sign.
so conception-wise there's not much wrong with you guys, now just need to make sure the endometrium gets thick!!! luckily they can do a lot nowadays and a solution should be findable.
too bad the FET cycle has started though. i know how it feels, i struggled in the hospital for a year before it worked.

lots of success and hopefully you'll get a positive result soon.

    Thank you, little one.
Yes, unfortunately, it had to be started, but I read that this often only happens after a year, so I can still say I'm a bit 'lucky'.
But I also clearly stated that I wasn't planning on going through 3 more IVF cycles just to end up with the 'conclusion' that my endometrium isn't thick enough.

Next week we're going for the first time. I'm curious if it's the 'right' moment.
Because this time my periods didn't go as usual. First, there was a very small amount for 3 days. So I did a test, hoping to be pregnant after all. Naturally, it was negative. And since yesterday, they've been heavy again like usual. He also didn't know where I should start counting.
So we took the day in between.
