How many weeks pregnant would I be now?

My last period started on Feb 8. I've had a 24-day cycle for the past 4 months, before that it was 28 days. So I took a positive test on March 4 (so with a 24-day cycle). And on March 7 I did a CB digital test and it said 2 to 3 weeks. So that would be about 4 and a half weeks. And this past Wednesday I did another digital test (had one left) and it said 3+ (so 5+ weeks). I also did a calculation online and it said I would be 5.4 weeks now, and the midwife assistant calculated 4.6 weeks. Do they calculate based on a 28-day cycle or something? If you have a shorter cycle, don't you ovulate earlier? I have an ultrasound on April 4, so I'm curious. Or would I produce more hCG or something because the CB already shows 5+ weeks.

    Hi Sannie,

They calculate from the first day of your last period to see how far along you are.
I also had that the test kept showing more weeks.
I actually knew that I ovulated in the first week after my period, because I had implantation bleeding a week after my last period day.
So I asked the midwife how it worked, and she said they always calculate from the first day of the last period and that the actual due date would only be set during the ultrasound..so just wait a bit
How are things going with your pregnancy?

    Best, AM

Thanks for your reply. I already have a daughter, so I knew the drill, but back then I had a 28-day cycle. I had calculated exactly how far along I was, and it matched the ultrasound.

But I'm really curious if I'm further along because I probably ovulated early. We'll just wait for the ultrasound. A few days shorter or longer doesn't matter, but I was a bit bummed I didn't get an ultrasound on my birthday, but a few days after, because I really wanted to tell my parents. It is exciting though.

Everything else is going fine. I get occasional cramps and sometimes a sharp stab. I'm sometimes a bit nauseous (I didn't have that with my previous pregnancy) and incredibly tired haha.
