    Hey Joy,

I was also cursing and raging in the toilet for a bit..... I always said I wanted to be a young mom and now I realize that getting pregnant isn't as simple as it seems....

I have good experiences with ovulation tests.... I use the Clearblue ones, so I'll get a smiley when it's almost time. They are very clear!

I'm going to the beach with some colleagues tomorrow to blow off some steam!

    Have a nice weekend,

    Love,
    Maaike

    Hey girls,

I totally get it, Maaike! I’ve been there too, especially since I’ve been waiting so long for my egg to release and it didn’t work out. It must seem really tough for you two because you’re ovulating regularly and it still hasn’t happened. But let’s keep our spirits up!

    How are you doing?

Today I went to my friend’s baby shower. She’s 31 weeks now, so things are moving along. It was fun and cozy, but it made me want it for myself even more. I truly wish her all the love, but that deep personal desire comes bubbling up again, which makes it a bit hard.

I’ve bought ovulation test strips and have done two so far. There were faint lines, but no thick, dark line yet. I’m testing every few days and also having intercourse, so I’m curious to see if I can track when my egg releases. I’ve decided to only do this once; I’m just curious, but then I’ll let it go.

Just wanted to share that. Have a nice week,
    Lief joy

    Hey,

Ugh, what a pain in my belly.... Ever since I had my IUD removed in November 2011, it's been at least 1 day a month where the pain is unbearable.... Luckily we have naproxen and a hot water bottle, so we'll just get to work!

Joy: I think it's wise to do the ovulation tests every day.... Because otherwise you might just miss your egg.... At least that's how it works with the Clearblue one with the smiley!

I totally relate to how you wish it for other people, but also want it so badly for yourself.... I have a few friends who know that we're trying for a baby, but feel so sorry that it's taking so long for us......

Good luck waiting for your egg!

    Love,
    Maaike

    Hi ladies,

Thanks Maaike! I'm still waiting, but I'm starting to get a bit impatient now.
Taking those tests now, no dark line yet but keeping a close eye on it...

Since you have so much trouble with your TSH, I used to have it just as bad when I was younger, but luckily it's less now. I'm just very tired and feel sluggish all over.
Are you also starting with the ovulation test this month?

    Marjolijn, how are you doing?
Well, as soon as I know more, I'll let you know!

    Hey,

I had a really hard time with it before I started the pill and after my IUD was removed in Nov 2011... Luckily it usually only lasts 1 or 2 days! Now I'm eagerly waiting for my period to stop... Should be Saturday or something... And then back to cuddling!
I've worked with ovulation tests before, but my cycle is a few days longer each time, then shorter, so I'll have to check again.....

I can totally imagine you're starting to get impatient now..... What day of your cycle are you on now?

    Love,
    Maaike

    Hi Ladies,

Nienke: I see you're 4 weeks pregnant! Congratulations!

Maaike: Ugh, that's really tough! Did you shed a few tears? Anyway, strength to you.

    Joy: Sounds exciting! Good luck!

How am I doing? Yesterday I had those short little twinges again on the left side of my belly. I'm having surgery on May 13th, so we're not allowed to try anymore. And I have to get my period again, which I'm really dreading. Today I'm getting a call back about a solution (stronger painkillers). I was actually supposed to get them today, but they don't want to take the risk because I might be pregnant. I was initially happy that I could get them today because then I'd have the same thought as you guys: that I might have received a little gift on my 30th birthday, namely getting pregnant.

Yesterday I also went to a sort of dietician, an orthomolecular one. That went really well too. And I went to the pelvic floor physio again. Just working on all the stress...

Thank you so much, I'm really happy about it too I'm rooting for you!
  8. Mommy #148

    Good morning,

Marjolijn, sending you lots of strength for the coming days, thinking of you! Take it easy and hope the surgery helps you move forward.

Maaike, yeah, I find it tough with the ovulation tests too. I don't know when I should actually start, afraid of being too late, but now I'm always too early. I'm on day 28 now, last time I had my egg around day 34, so I think I'll stick with that. So that would mean next week. I'll keep testing until I'm sure. I'll just keep going, I'm just so curious if it really works for me.

Wishing you all a good weekend in advance. Any plans for Q-day? I'm going to sell our clothes with my sister, cleared out the closets, I'm looking forward to it!

    Love, Joy

    hey girls,

Joy: that's tough that you have such a long cycle... has your cycle always been so irregular and long? It's indeed a bit of a wait with those tests. I'm lucky that my cycle is between 24 and 32 days, so I test from day 10 until my egg... 9 out of 10 times on day 15 regardless of the length....

I don't have any plans for Q day yet, since the weather isn't really going to be great, I'll probably just stay around the house... (which is pretty easy since I live in the center )

    Good luck with selling clothes!

Marjolijn: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and thinking of you in the coming days! Try to let it all wash over you as much as possible and get back to work as soon as the weather allows! Hopefully you'll be pregnant soon!

    Have a nice weekend,
    love,
    Maaike

Thank you so much, Joy and Maaike!

    How was your King's Day?

We just popped into the village for a little while with our 1-year-old niece. After that, I watched Netherlands 1 all day. I actually have a gout attack in my foot, so I can't really walk. I was supposed to start my period last Monday, but it still hasn't come. Harry says I shouldn't take a test yet, since I've been late a few times already. Could it be due to stress? I was really dreading having that period pain again. Plus, everything had to be neat and kid-proof in our house.

    Love, Marjolijn

    Hey girls,

All good here, had a nice King's Day! Got nicely sunburned and had a drink. I really liked that I could distract myself for a bit. I notice it did me good, just let it go, more and more.
It also helps that I'm studying and have started driving lessons, which takes a lot of my attention, so plenty of distraction.
In the meantime, I'm still waiting for my egg, this is really a long cycle though. If the next cycle lasts this long too, I'll make an appointment with my GP.

Marjolijn; Geez, that's tough to hear that you have so much trouble with your period! I hope it stays away! And otherwise, stay strong in the coming days, take it easy!

Maaike; As far as I remember, I did menstruate quite regularly. I'm trying to stay patient now, because I'm not really keen on medications or anything that would induce everything, like I read a lot about.
Probably I just need to give my body some more time. It's getting better and better. It's nice that you have a regular cycle, but it seems really hard to me that a pregnancy would then take its time. Which day are you on now?

  12. Wipeout #152

    Hey,

I'm on day 17 now... but I forgot to take the tests again, so I'm just cuddling a lot, hoping we didn't miss it... And if we did, there's another chance next month!

Marjolijn; how are you feeling? Has your period come yet?

Joy; that's great that you have a distraction! I find it easier for me too now that I'm working full days since the holidays have started! Nice to have a distraction instead of thinking about getting pregnant every time....

I wish you all a nice Liberation Day!

    Love,
    Maaike

    Hi ladies,

Do you get that a lot, Maaike, where you're so tired? Have a great weekend! I hope your fatigue will be gone by then.

My period still hasn't arrived. I do have period symptoms, but the hospital says I should grab a test first. Then I can call on Sunday to see if the operation on Monday is going ahead. Exciting!

    How are you doing, Jopie?

  15. Wipeout #155

    Hey,

I'm enjoying myself right in the middle of Paris, but I'm tired and staying tired.... I've walked a lot and, of course, didn't sleep ideally in a crib made for Parisians..... My breasts are hurting too, so we'll wait until next Saturday..... Maybe we'll get lucky and it worked!

Marjolijn; have you taken the test yet?

Jopie; it's annoying that you got your period, but it's nice that you're getting support now!

    Have a nice weekend! X
  16. Wipeout #156

Marjolijn, I wish you lots of strength via this message for the operation! I hope it goes well and that you recover quickly afterward!

    Hey Ladies,

Marjolijn; I'm curious how you're doing. You probably have enough on your mind, but I'm thinking of you!

Maaike; Are you still in Paris or back already? Good to read that you had a nice time!
Exciting, Saturday, I really hope your water doesn't break! Keep us posted?

Here we're very happy with the guidance, I email her my temp every day, do different physical checks and based on those data we're going to find the fertile days! Feels much more natural than ovulation tests. Also forced to have sex for a whole month, which takes the fun out of it. So I'm very curious if it's going to work out.
The egg is coming, mucus is changing and I'm getting tender breasts, so I'll wait patiently.

  18. Wipeout #158

    Hey,

I'm back from Paris already! We had a great time....
But I've picked up a few more things that I have some doubts about..... Painful and larger breasts, bloated belly, constant dragging all day, no patience, nobody can do anything right... And I feel like I could just lie down all day and fall asleep immediately...

I find it very exciting, but I'll definitely keep you posted!

Joy; it's nice that you're getting so much support.... Did you seek this support out yourself or is this through your GP?

Marjolijn; I hope everything is going well and I'd love to hear from you when you're ready to talk again....

    Love,
    Maaike
  19. Wipeout #159

    Hey ladies,

Unfortunately, this round didn't go as hoped either....... So next round I'll do ovulation tests and then maybe head over to the midwife......

  20. Mommy #160

    Hi Maaike,

Sorry to hear that, girl! Take it easy these coming days, strength!
Yeah, I've also often been on the verge of going for IUI, what holds me back is that I prefer not to take medication. But that's my reason, and I understand why you're getting discouraged.
It can't hurt to discuss it, right? And otherwise, I'd heartily recommend cycle guidance.

I'm in my fertile days, now 3 days at it. Unfortunately, last night was awful, vomiting and stomach pain.
Today relaxing on the couch and taking it easy, but I'd actually like to try tonight.
How do I know this? My cycle guidance predicted that I'd ovulate tomorrow or Saturday, did the last ovulation test today (it's in my photos) and it's strongly positive!

Very curious and will keep you posted!

    Love, Joy
