Hi everyone! I'm 18 weeks pregnant and I'm completely covered in stretch marks. I've been slathering on different oils and creams from the start, but nothing seems to work. What should I do now??

Nothing right now, to put it mildly :-( Just keep applying cream, drink plenty of fluids, and stay flexible.
I was also completely covered in stretch marks during my second pregnancy. There's just nothing you can do about it. You'll notice that most of it fades away after giving birth.

Yesterday I happened to have a chat about this with a friend in the hospital. She said that the creams you rub on don't really do much; it's the massage that matters. After all, it's about blood circulation.
It also depends on what kind of skin you have. I hardly have any stretch marks, even though this is my 3rd pregnancy, and I could totally show off in a bikini again without feeling ashamed.
So: massage, massage, massage, and don't waste too much money on expensive creams.

I just have bad luck, always got stretch marks, not with expensive creams though, but nice streaks. From the first pregnancy already a bit, period was very present and now cheerfully moving forward hihi.
I keep applying cream for the sake of it, I just find it pleasant and a pity for those stretch marks then.....

Here since yesterday, suddenly new stretch marks and not being too careful either, it really looks like a treasure map, damn.

According to VK, smearing doesn't do any harm either; it's ultimately massage, and it definitely won't make it less!

Well, I'm glad I have stretchy skin!

I do lube myself up almost daily (many people do that even when not pregnant) :
in the morning after showering with Johnson's Baby Oil and
in the evening with a special (expensive!) cream.

Now my husband sees that the cream is practically empty and wants to buy me a new one,
    but I think it's nonsense.
I've also understood in the meantime that it's about the rubbing and massaging, not what you apply.. So I really won't buy a new bottle for that last month!!
I have plenty of other stuff here to use!!

It was going well for me too, but suddenly they've been there for a few days now! Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything I can do about it.

Here I still don't see any stretch marks.. the midwife said last week you have a beautiful belly, we rarely see any stretch marks here! Many women really have a painting on their belly she said. And she asked if I smears my belly I said no never done it only when I feel that my belly is really tight I take some body lotion and massage my belly so it becomes less tight... and she told me that whether you smear daily or not you can't banish the stretch marks if they come.. you can only tame them a bit so to speak.. and it depends very much from woman to woman and from the texture of your skin the more elastic your skin the less likely you are to suffer she said... and indeed massaging is more important than the cream itself! She also said that if you want to smear it's good to use baby lotion keeps your skin supple just like with the kids and a plus point it smells delicious I must say though when I take a bath there's always bath oil in it so this already makes your skin more supple...
Well ladies who have a lot of trouble with this.. smear a lot and especially massage well!!

I don't use anything, I didn't either with my first. I gained 22 kg then and didn't get any stretch marks. I hope it spares me this time too...
