2nd trimester
Weight loss due to intense grief
Hi everyone,
After a serious illness (lung cancer), my dad passed away yesterday morning in my presence... The last few weeks he was in the hospital and it was clear that the end was near... It was an intense period where we also stayed awake with him in the hospital on the last night. Although I try to keep eating well, I notice that the grief and lack of structure aren't doing me any good. I'm now 16 weeks pregnant, and instead of gaining weight happily, I've lost 1.9 kg over the past few weeks... Making me feel guilty towards our little baby, because of course I want to give our baby all the attention and love possible and help it grow as well as possible...
Can this weight loss be harmful? I'm going to the gynecologist on Tuesday, I'll ask her anyway, but I notice I'm still a bit worried...
