But one artery instead of two in the umbilical cord

Hi everyone,
I just had my 20-week ultrasound and thankfully the baby is completely healthy, but it turns out I only have one artery in my umbilical cord instead of two. This is called SUA, does anyone else have this? It occurs in 1 out of 100 pregnant women.

My son had this defect too, but was born completely healthy this February. He was a bit premature (35.4 weeks), but no one knows if that’s related to the umbilical cord Don’t worry too much, you’re being closely monitored now for any heart or kidney issues.

I had this with my oldest too, but they were born healthy at 41.1.

Thank you so much, carjay. It's nice to read that, and also that things are going well with your oldest!
