Who can help me with a question?

Hi everyone,
I’m Linda and had a miscarriage on Dec 23rd. Now, after almost 10 weeks, my first period finally started yesterday. I’m wondering when I’ll ovulate again—we really want to try for a baby again and are fully committed. When I went for my first check-up with the midwife, she said I have a 34-day cycle. Should I stick to that? And they told me that if I get my period now, I’ll ovulate in 14 days.
Thanks in advance!
Greetings, Linda

    Hi Linda,

I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Sending you lots of strength.

Unfortunately, it's hard to say when you can expect your ovulation. After a miscarriage, it can take a while for your cycle to get back to normal.

Maybe it's an idea to start using ovulation tests? That way, you'll know when you're ovulating.

I hope your cycle gets back on track soon.

    Best wishes

Oh Linda, that's terrible. And right before the holidays too. I've never experienced it myself, luckily, but it sounds really tough. I think it's around that time that you start telling yourself. But like Nancy says, your hormone levels might be a bit off. You could try ovulation tests if you want to be sure. They always worked well for me. I ordered them online and they weren't expensive. Good luck. I hope you get pregnant again soon!

    Love!

Thanks for your kind messages, Nancy and pinge30.
It’s been really tough. Yes, no one deserves this. I’ve never used ovulation tests, so I wouldn’t know when to start using them. They always just said to have intercourse every other day. When should I start trying with ovulation tests?
    Greetings, Linda

Linda, I always start on day 10 of my cycle.
Day 1 is the first day of your period.

    Thanks so much, Nancy!
I'm on day 5 now and it's getting less intense, so if I understand you correctly, I can start using my ovulation tests in about 5 days.

That's indeed handy if you're going to use ovulation tests. I had a miscarriage in September myself and also used them; the first 3 cycles had irregular cycles and the 4th was normal again for 4 weeks. I used the ones from Action myself; they were fine but I think they don't work for everyone. Wishing you lots of success and hoping it's granted to you soon!

Linda, you're right, girl. And what Anne also says, those from Action are cheap and for most people these work super (for me personally too).

    Nancy,
I bought ovulation tests and tested. It does show a line, and it's clearly visible, just not as thick as the test line. I opened a topic about ovulation, and there's the photo attached.
    Greetings, Lin

Hang in there, Linda. They'll grow beautifully on their own.
