Is this a period?

Hi everyone,
I stopped taking the pill in June. About 4 weeks after stopping, I had a nice period. Less complaints and less blood than during a withdrawal bleed like I knew from when I was on the pill, but undoubtedly menstruation. Before that, I had sore nipples for a few days.
This month is different. Since last Saturday, I've been regularly wiping off old (brown) blood after peeing. Very occasionally there's also a spot on the pad (yesterday a slightly bigger spot). But sometimes there's nothing after wiping.
Would you consider this a period? I did have sore nipples beforehand, so timing-wise it could be a period.
It's definitely not pregnancy. I tested yesterday and it was negative (unfortunately!). HELP!

    It could also be some old blood from your previous period that was left behind. You might still be a bit irregular after stopping the pill.

    I know that the body can be quite out of whack in the beginning. We've taken that into account, and I definitely want to give my body that time after more than 10 years of hormones from the pill. What I do find strange is that I had a nice period last month, and now – about 4 weeks later – this… I read somewhere that people still count this as a period, but I'm not so sure myself.

    I had that too after I stopped the pill. After about 4 days, I actually got my period. Maybe it'll come for you too? Hopefully, you'll get back to your regular cycle soon anyway!

    I had that too after stopping the pill. The first period after the withdrawal bleed often comes on time, then your body starts regulating itself. I also had some bleeding a few days before my period started. Just your hormones being all messed up. But you can of course get pregnant too.

    Hey dears, I experienced exactly the same thing this month and it was driving me a little crazy. I also stopped the pill in June and got a nice period afterwards. The second round started with pinkish/brown discharge when wiping and a very small amount on the panty liner around cycle day 26/27. That lasted for about 3 days and eventually turned into bright red bleeding. Indeed, as clautjuh mentioned above. The body has to regulate everything itself now and try to find its way through this

    Well, I’ve actually gotten my period today. Thanks for all the replies, everyone. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who experiences this. And it’s also nice that my body is just working properly! Gonna get through the next few days and then we’re moving on to round 2
