5 weeks pregnant and having tummy pain...

Hi girls...

I'm almost 5 weeks pregnant and have a lot of stomach pain... It's not that I'm doubled over in pain, but it is a very irritating and nagging feeling! It even wakes me up in the morning and then I can't get back to sleep! So I just get up and take a little walk around the house... Sometimes this is already at 5 am... Pff, I'm pretty tired then! Luckily, I have the chance to lie down for a bit in the afternoon! Have you guys had this too, or are there any girls who have experienced this?
I also find it quite exciting and a bit scary... There are still 3 weeks until our first ultrasound, and until then you don't know if everything is okay!
Hope you can reassure me a bit...

Love, Lynn

    Hi Lynn,
Tummy pain, or at least a sensitive tummy (uterus), is very normal. A lot happens in the first few weeks.

I understand that you're worried, but tummy pain on its own isn't a sign that something is wrong.

And that feeling of worry, I never really got rid of it either. If I have an ultrasound today where everything is fine, I'll already be doubting again tomorrow. I think it's just part of it.

    @ Lynn,
Maybe it's a sign that you shouldn't worry so much.
Maybe let things unfold a bit more naturally...
You're pregnant, that's clear as day.
So now, just relax and enjoy everything that's coming.

Stay strong, and if something comes up, you can always ask or even send a PM.
You know you'll get an answer...

Ju... I think you're totally right! Pff... and your PM turned into a whole essay ha ha..
    Love... Plop down now

Eva, thank you for your reply! I also think you're right! It's all still quite suspenseful, especially since you don't feel anything yet and have seen nothing! My first ultrasound is on October 29th and if that's okay, maybe things will lighten up for me a bit!
Are you pregnant too? And how long...? I can't see that because you're listed as a guest.

    Hi Lynn,
It's exactly the same here... 6 weeks pregnant and often sharp stabs on the left side of my belly, especially with moderate exertion.
You wrote a few weeks ago, how are you doing now?

    Hi Wendy,
    CONGRATULATIONS!
It’s actually going well now! No more stomach pain, but I really worried myself sick because of the extreme pain in the 6th week that landed me at the urgent care clinic! Turns out it was my intestines that were completely upset! I had to eat light and liquid food for the next few days, and drink lots of water and weak tea because I obviously couldn’t take the medication for it! It worked really well! Everything is calm and so far, everything is good with the baby! I’m just glad to get past the 12-week mark when the risk of miscarriage is lower! I can be a bit of a worrier sometimes, and that makes me feel insecure! I’m trying to enjoy myself a bit more slowly now, but it’s still super exciting! How are you doing otherwise?

    Love, Lynn

Ooo, it's so nice to hear that things are going well now, and it's lovely that you're responding to my message.. when are the twelve weeks over for you? Four more weeks? Because a body can go crazy, you know, because of a pregnancy.
I also get worried so quickly, you know, with pregnancy you get a lot of future dreams and those would suddenly be taken away by a miscarriage.. That's just very sad.. but I've heard that from 8 weeks the chance is already less.
I feel pretty good overall, not super fit, but other than the belly pain, I have nothing to complain about. Tomorrow afternoon we have the first appointment with the gynecologist, EXCITING!! I'm quite looking forward to it..
    Greetings, Wendy

    Hi Wendy,

I'm exactly 9 weeks today, so 3 more to go! It'll be nice once I've passed the 12-week mark! Glad you're feeling well, enjoy it! Exciting, right, that first ultrasound? We were also super nervous watching! The ultrasound in my profile was taken at exactly 6 weeks! As you can see, it's not much at all, ha ha.... a tiny grain of rice! Is this your first, Wendy?

Good luck, girl, and let me know how it went!

We had an ultrasound today, and I was really shocked. They could only see a gestational sac, but no baby yet. The gynecologist couldn't be sure if it was in my uterus either, but he thought it was.

We're hoping that I had a later ovulation and implantation, so I'm actually less pregnant than initially thought, because an empty gestational sac is typical for 4-5 weeks of pregnancy. We're due for another scan in two weeks. Pff, these are going to be two long weeks.

We have a little boy, he's 2.3 years old... And you?

    Love, Wendy

Hi Wendy! I can imagine that it’s definitely a shock and certainly not what you hoped and expected! Stay positive, girl, and it could really turn out well, just as you said! I’ve read more stories here where people thought it wasn’t going to be okay, but in the end, everything was fine because they were indeed pregnant for less time! I can imagine that the days are long and you’re still worrying! How are you doing otherwise?
    I have a son who’s 4, turning 5 in March! He’s really a guy already!
Take it easy, girl, and keep me posted!
    Good luck, love, Lynn

    Hi Lynn,
I have that too, but don't stress about it.
This is my first pregnancy and everything feels so new to me.
But that pain is normal xx

Last Friday I had my second ultrasound, and luckily there was a little baby with a nice heartbeat!
According to the calculation I'm now eight and a half weeks pregnant, but according to the ultrasound seven and a half weeks, well that doesn't matter much of course, we'll hear it in four weeks..
I'm feeling nauseous, all day long, I've been vomiting so much for a few days now that I have absolutely no energy left, I called in sick to work today, I'm quite upset about that..
How is it for you guys? I always read a lot about severe nausea but I don't know anyone who has had or has had as much trouble with it.

    Greetings Wendy

That's so nice to hear everything is going well!!
I also turned out to be 2 days less along than my own calculation at the first ultrasound, no worries, pregnant is pregnant, so just a week shorter, not a big deal

I was quite nauseous during the first few weeks, but not so bad that I had to vomit, luckily. With my first, also luckily, I wasn't. I was just before my 10th week suddenly free of nausea, out of nowhere?!
My girlfriend had nausea and vomiting for almost the whole pregnancy with her second It's worthless because you really feel like a wreck, I know from her.
I hope you have the luck that I had, then you'll be over it soon.

    Love, Sandra

    Hi Wendy!

That's super that everything is okay and that it matches!! Totally awesome, girl! And being a week less is not a problem, as long as the little one is doing well! Exciting, isn't it?

I was really nauseous until I threw up! From 10 weeks it was completely gone! Enjoy it...

    Hey Lynn,

You're already quite far along in your pregnancy now, but your story is so similar to mine right now. I'm in my 6th week and have known I'm pregnant for 5 days. I sometimes get really bad stomach pain, especially on the lower right side. I have to quickly lie down in a hot bath because otherwise I feel like I'm going to fall over. I went to the GP yesterday and after an internal exam she said I don't need to worry about anything. Pff, that's easy to say. I barely dare to exert myself because it feels like it's going to get worse. It lasts about 10 minutes each time. In between, I have little discomfort, just like mild period cramps. How are you doing now?

    Hi there,

Congrats on your pregnancy! I can totally imagine how you're feeling! I felt really unsure back then too and kept thinking this can't be right! Luckily, the doctor reassured me... I still get stomach aches! Some days more than others... I just think some women are more sensitive to it! I still have nights where I can't sleep from it, and it's a nasty feeling during the day too! I often sleep with a hot water bottle against my belly, and a hot shower definitely helps too! It's just something that comes with the territory and can definitely make you feel insecure! I also bought an Angel Sound so I can hear the baby's heartbeat myself, which really puts my mind at ease!

Hope your stomach aches pass soon! Try to enjoy it and don't worry too much! I'm 20 weeks now and expecting a girl!

    How are you doing otherwise?

    Love, Lynn

    Hi,

I'm 6 weeks pregnant now and have been experiencing bleeding (bright red) for a week.
Before that, it was light pink, so I thought it was implantation bleeding.
Last Thursday I went to the OB/GYN anyway, and everything was fine then; we could just barely hear the heartbeat.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
    I'm so worried!

    Best,
