Hey, I don't know my dates, that's the problem. I took my last pill on March 28th and haven't had a period since. -

Well, on April 4th I lost a little blood, which I think was implantation bleeding. -
Raisa #63
Yeah, that's tough Wendy. I'd maybe test again in about 3 days. -

Hi Raisa, thanks again for your reply. I'll do another test on Friday morning just to be sure.
How are things going for you? I read that unfortunately your period started again pfff, what a bummer. -

We haven't told anyone that I've stopped the pill.
I almost told a good friend but wanted to keep it just between us two.
Completely different thing, we have friends who tried to get pregnant but it turned out to be quite difficult for them.
After a year of trying they underwent various tests and decided to do an IVF treatment.
Fortunately with success and they now have a boy of one and a half.
They did tell me that during the year of trying sex became more of a "must-do".
She of course kept a good eye on her fertile days so at some point it became more of a must-do than genuine and enthusiastic desire, let's say.
Not that I'm worried about this already, but what are your experiences/opinions on this?
I can imagine that if you've been trying for a while you start thinking we have to again. -

Hi charmed,
I’ve been tracking my ovulation tests and temperature, but I leave my husband out of it. We have sex often enough to be successful, usually every other day, and sometimes there’s an extra day in between.
I dress sexy when I really want sex because my ovulation is approaching.
But I also really enjoy the sex and don’t do it just because I “have to”... so I don’t see this as a disadvantage. -

Yeah, that's also really important.
Enjoying it should come first, it really shouldn't feel like a chore.
My husband has a physically demanding job, so he comes home exhausted every day.
He's so tired, has absolutely no energy left. He could go to bed at 20:00 if he wanted to.
So, doing it during the week is more the exception than the rule for us.
We usually make up for it on the weekends, but of course, the fertile days won't always fall on Saturday and Sunday.
So that's going to be a little challenge... haha -

So relatable! And then out comes my sexy lingerie and all the bells and whistles
Suddenly my husband isn't so tired after all

Hi, I haven't told anyone in the family or friends. Except one friend of mine who said to me, "You have to tell me something, right?" So I thought, what do you mean? Then she said, "It's written all over your face." Hint hint. So I said, "No way, what are you talking about?" Maybe I look different because I stopped the pill? I thought, no, you can't know anything about this. It was really hard because I really wanted to share it with my best friends. But it stays between me and my partner. Our secret that we're trying for a baby.
About sex and trying. No issues. Before we started trying for a baby, we already had a lot of sex together. And now during my fertile days, once more. My partner loves it, haha.
Just to add again. I still don't have any discharge. I don't think it's coming anymore. No stomach pain, nothing. -

Good morning ladies, it's me again pfff I'm just busy with it. Hihi.
I was feeling quite nauseous again this morning. Also having those stabbing pains in my left groin that I sometimes feel on the right side too. But it's worst on the left.
I'm curious about the test I'm going to do on Friday. If that's negative again, I'll wait for my next ovulation. -

Exciting, Wendy! -

Exciting Wendy, hoping for good news for you!
How Friday seems so far away.
Do you ladies take the test together with your husband/partner or alone and tell him later? -
SS21 #73
Charmed my boyfriend knew I was going to test and was at work, I sent him a photo of the test via app -

Okay, we plan to always take the tests together. Seems special to me too.
We both work 40 hours so we don't have much alone time either haha.
But I realized I made a mistake about the fertile days.
I misunderstood it. "First day of last period," I read it as you should start counting the first day after your period, so the last day of your period.
Sounds really silly but I found it quite confusing haha.
Turns out according to calculations I ovulated yesterday and the days before, and I'm still fertile today.
We didn't have sex those days before. Yesterday we did...
Now I feel a bit like I've pissed next to the pot... -
Raisa #75
@charmed what an app shows is just an estimate. I don't think many people have the exact moment of ovulation according to the apps. -
Ysabel #76
Charmed, you don't have to pin yourself to that app; it's just an indication of when you might ovulate. For example, in February I thought my ovulation would be on the 17th, but my ovulation test was only positive on the 23rd. And that month I turned out to be pregnant! If you want to be sure when you ovulate, it's best to track your temperature or use ovulation tests. -
Raisa #77
Here too, taking it easy and doing ovulation tests, and I’m usually right on track with the app when it comes to days

Hi everyone,
I’d also love to chat with you all. I really relate to so many of your stories. I stopped the pill on December 2nd. I really had a lot of symptoms from coming off it in those first few months. If I had found this forum back then, it might have saved me some uncertainty. Now I’m in the next phase of uncertainty. I really can’t get a handle on it. My cycle just seems to be getting longer. 37-36-47 days so far. Now I’m on day 19 of my cycle testing with ovulation tests. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to spot a single peak yet. It’s day 34 now. For the past 2-3 days, I’ve had some stabbing pains in my breasts and cramps in my belly. Like I’m about to get my period. I also took a pregnancy test yesterday (early test) but unfortunately, it was negative. This makes me really insecure. We did have regular sex in the days before I started testing. So somewhere in my heart, I hope we might get lucky, but I really think the chance is quite small.
As for the mandatory "baby-making" sessions, we sometimes struggle with that too. My husband also comes home tired from work and feels some performance pressure. Sometimes we just couldn’t manage to reach the desired result. After the first 2 months, we decided to stop making it mandatory every 2-3 days throughout the whole cycle, and instead focus more on my fertile days according to the app. So we stuck to that last month, and suddenly my cycle became 10 days longer. -.- So this month I’m using ovulation tests, but I’m also considering starting to track my temperature. And how incredibly busy you can get with everything your body does. -

Hi NL93, it really is weird how you start focusing on everything you feel in your body, right! I can imagine it doesn't get easier after a few months either. This mess here makes it a lot more fun though; you can share your worries and see that you're not the only one counting and waiting right now
We haven't told friends or family yet either, which makes it extra fun to be able to talk about it here, because I sometimes find it really hard to keep quiet. We've made sure to do it more often around my estimated ovulation day this past month. Not always a success, I think if it becomes a 'have to' next month, I won't tell my husband in those words but will just take out the lingerie and all the trimmings from the closet
I haven't started with ovulation tests and temperature tracking yet, but if it doesn't work within 2 or 3 months without them, I think I'll start. I'm still trusting my currently very regular 28-day cycle.
8 days until my next period. If the devil doesn't show up Thursday and Friday, I'd test on Friday evening. One more week of suffering on the waiting bench. Cramps in my lower abdomen and mood swings again today, I hope this results in a positive test next week and not a period... -

I did share it with my best friend. She was expecting it anyway, but I also had the issue that we were getting married and there was a bachelorette party coming up. Before, I used to have a drink now and then, but since we started trying, I've been more conscious about it. Normally, I can kind of hide this from my circle, but with my own bachelorette party, that became difficult. So I decided to tell her. According to the calculations, my expected period for that month would also be around the chosen date, so I could test just in case. If I was pregnant, my girlfriend had secretly arranged for alcohol-free drinks without the rest finding out
Sometimes you just end up in tricky situations with your surroundings. Besides, we kept everything quiet from the rest of our friends and family.
