Already fertile right away or after stopping the pill

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are totally ready to finally have our dream baby. I stopped the pill on March 28th and didn't finish the last strip (I was a week short). Since I always had a very irregular cycle before starting the pill, we decided to use ovulation tests. We're using the Clearblue Digital with the two-face indicator.

After taking my last pill, I got my withdrawal bleed on April 4th, so exactly one week after stopping the pill.

On April 11th, I started testing because I was feeling some abdominal pain. The test was negative. I tested again the next day, still negative. The day after that, I suddenly noticed a lot of white, stretchy mucus when wiping after peeing, so I tested again. This one showed a blinking face. So we started trying! The next day, another blinking face, and we kept trying. The day after that, a solid face! So, positive! And yesterday it was positive again!

I only had a good amount of that white mucus for one day; after that, it decreased.

Anyway, we're busy with it. Even though it feels like "obligatory sex," we're both enjoying it.

But now, after the second blinking face, I've been experiencing certain symptoms: very tender breasts, waking up nauseous, and sometimes a sharp sting on the lower left side near my groin.

I really hope that these might be signs that it worked. But, I haven't had a normal period yet after stopping the pill? Although, based on the ovulation test, it seems my ovulation was coming up and must have happened, given the white mucus and the positive ovulation test. That's what I think.

What do you all think?

Is there a chance I could already be pregnant? Or am I just experiencing symptoms from stopping the pill? Because I've read online that the symptoms I'm having also fit well with withdrawal from the pill.

Best wishes, and good luck to everyone else with their baby wishes!

Hi! Exciting! It could be either. Wait 2 weeks after the smile to see if you get a period or if you're pregnant right away. Another possibility is that your period comes later and you're not pregnant. Good luck!! I got pregnant right after stopping the pill, but there are also quite a few women who take a while to ovulate again.
    Wait with anticipation...

After the ovulation test, implantation usually happens about a week later, so you'll have to wait a bit.
I hope it works out for you both!

You can't have pregnancy symptoms right after ovulation. Like mamakim said, you need implantation first, then your body starts producing hCG. I also had symptoms after stopping the pill. It can happen right away in the first cycle, but now you're feeling all sorts of things because you stopped the pill. Good luck and hopefully a positive test in 10 days!

I thought I was pregnant two months in a row right after stopping the pill. But it turned out to be withdrawal bleeding.

    Hi, thanks for your replies!
I'm starting to think more and more that it's implantation, though of course I'm hoping that's not the case. I've got a bit of pain down there in my lower belly, very mild, but it sounds like period pain too. Also a bloated feeling. Pfff, I'm going crazy because my body feels really different than usual. That's also the reason why I'm starting to think more that it's implantation.
But whatever you say, if I don't get my period after 10 days, I'll do a test. But is the test reliable that soon? I thought if it's a hit, implantation can take up to 10 days.
Well, I'll wait and see then. Pfff, tricky!

Count 14 days from your ovulation. How many days past ovulation are you now?

    I don't know exactly when I ovulated.
But the day I lost a lot of white mucus was: April 13th
And the first day my ovulation test was positive was: April 15th

Then you could test the 29th.

Okay. Well, if I don't get my period, I'll take a test. Thanks!

Exciting, Wendy! Around that time I can start testing again

Exciting, Raisa! Fingers crossed that we both get a positive test!

Although it's only round 1 for me, so don't get your hopes up. But it would be super nice, of course!

    Here round 7 fingers crossed!

    Good luck!

I missed 1 pill and got pregnant right away. So you don't always have to stop the pill!
Good luck, I hope it sticks! X

    What a terrible wait, really.
Every time I go to pee, I’m afraid that maybe my period has started.
Although it’s still too early for that.
I still have that feeling from time to time down in my stomach, like I’m about to get my period.
And I’m also keeping that bloated lower belly under control.
Now I finally understand how hard it is for all the girls here who are constantly on edge.
Waiting is really tough, but I know I have to be patient.

    Yeah... that waiting is killing!

I had a small pink spot in my panty liner this morning?!
Could that mean my period is starting?
Or could it possibly be related to implantation?

Hi ladies, it's so nice to read your stories. I'm new to this site but I really enjoy reading about your experiences. I've been off the pill for a week now and we're keen to have a baby! I'm curious how it'll go for me with coming off the pill... have you had a lot of complaints from it? I hear a lot of women get acne again... Did you experience that too?

First two months had some headaches and stomach pain, then nothing special anymore.
