early miscarriage?

Hey Jenny,
I never really noticed anything like a membrane during my early miscarriages (at 5 weeks), but it could definitely be possible. If it's an early miscarriage, they should normally be able to see it in your blood (your hCG would be slightly elevated), so you can definitely drop by your GP.

Thank you for your reply, snowflake I took a pregnancy test, and it was negative. But I haven't called the doctor yet. I'm a bit hesitant because she's not the most accommodating person...

I've never had it myself, Jenny, and I don't think I ever really had clots during my period either. But when I had a miscarriage, I did have a lot of clots, even after most of it had already come out. According to the gynecologist, that came from my uterus to get rid of anything else left. If I were you, I'd just ask my GP about it.

Thank you for your message, MamaN
I'll indeed ask around a bit, because I can't find much about it on the internet. It probably varies from person to person anyway.

By the way, it's possible that your pregnancy test is negative, but you were (very briefly) pregnant anyway. I used the Kruidvat tests, and from my experience, they're quite sensitive because even with an hCG level of 12, I got a very faint line. Good luck with the GP! It's a shame they're not so accommodating. Hopefully, they can give you some more reassurance anyway.
