Hi Esther,
Nice that you want to chat, it's so cozy
I'll introduce myself right away: I'm Bianca, 27 years old, and I'm now in my eighth week..
Anyway, here's an answer to your question: your test can definitely still turn positive, you might still have a very small amount of hCG hormone in your body, every 1.5 days the hCG goes up...
So exciting, and I always hear very positive things about the tests from Kruidvat, two for five euros...
Those with the purple cap are also good from Kruidvat.. You also have them in their own brand, two for 9.95 if I'm not mistaken..
Hope you get a positive test in your hands soon
Love, Bianca -

Hi Bianca,
Thanks for your nice reply!
For me, it’s a relief (even if that might sound weird) that I’m not the only one who isn’t pregnant right away. I find it all really exciting, but that applies to you too, of course!
Are you going for the first one too? -
bianca1986 #123
hey esther,
you're welcome, nice that you reply right away
i'm also going for the first one, but it's not quite going as i hoped hihi, but well, patience is rewarded let's say
it's definitely exciting
is this your first too? and are you already busy with it? and yeah, i get that it's reassuring to know there are others who aren't pregnant right away 1,2,3
shame, but there are more than we think.. i hope it happens quickly for everyone who hasn't succeeded yet..
lots of love bianca -

Hi Bianca,
Yes, it's my first time too, so that makes it extra exciting! Stopped the pill in October 2012. Everyone around me seems to get pregnant in no time, so I started getting a bit worried... but I'm staying positive and patient!
If I haven't gotten my period by Friday, I'll take another test...
Wishing you lots of success too! ;-) -
bianca1986 #125
Oh, that is indeed very exciting
And I'll tell you this: I stopped the pill more than three years ago, on the advice of an internist, so luckily it can't be "un-pill-ing" anymore.. we've passed that phase
I've been trying since around Dec 31, 2012, and indeed, I often think the same: everyone I see is pregnant, and then I start to feel really down, pff, we just say patience, patience, patience
Anyway, last month I started using ovulation tests, hoping that would help me, and since last Monday I've been taking those folic acid pills called Mama+Baby... they contain vitamins and folic acid.. let's see what this will do, hehehe, so curious for the new round, now just waiting because I'm currently not pregnant, I estimate another day, and then on to the new round's
Indeed, Friday again a little test, how exciting, I'm cheering for you
I hope so that you'll have a positive test in your hands on Friday..
How nice would that be, right? Wishing you lots of luck, girl.. and we'll keep in touch, is that okay?
I'd really like to know the outcome, hehe
Love, Bianca -

Did the NOD test today. Negative... I think the line was super super faint, like a tiny little mark, so I think I'll wait a few more days before doing another one. Unless I'm already pregnant, of course. Such a hard wait, right? I'm not good at waiting. I've been trying for 7 months now and the desire for a baby is sooo big and grows every month. I'm so excited to care for such a sweet little treasure. And I'm also looking forward to the pregnancy itself, hahaha okay, not the birth, but well, if that's the sacrifice I have to make, I'll gladly do it, hahaha. Oh wow, how strong can the urge be, ladies? -
bianca1986 #127
Hey idf,
That's right, we'll have to wait a bit longer, but once you're pregnant, hCG will rise quickly, luckily hihihi, so next week you'll have a positive test in your hands, and let's assume that faint line you mentioned next week turns into a thick pink line hihihi uh (lines)
I completely understand what you mean
Every month the longing grows, and you think to yourself, "Gosh, when will my flag go up?" And then the disappointment is huge when you just get your period (I have to cry every time)
And I think, "Goodness, how much longer?" I'm entering round eight, I'm currently on my period so for me, the new round is about to start again hihihi, exciting
I've told the other girls that August will be our month... And I'm going with that assumption.
I can't wait to be pregnant..

Owwww I want it so badly, but my body still lets me down every month.
Good luck, girl
Lots of love, Bianca
I'm rooting for you -

Hi everyone.
I stopped taking the pill a year ago and have been trying to get pregnant, but it hasn’t worked out yet.
I had my period from June 23 to July 23, and now I’m one day late. Before that, I had a normal cycle. Can you help me out? Thanks a lot. -
bianca1986 #129
Hey Kelly,
Welcome!
I actually have some advice for you: quickly run to Kruidvat, grab two tests for five euros—they’re very sensitive—and then take a test. That way, you’ll know right away whether you’re pregnant or not.
Oh, and Kelly, it’s also possible that your cycle is a bit longer this month, which means your ovulation might have been a bit later. If that’s the case, your period will also come later. But judging by what you’re saying about having a regular cycle, the biggest chance right now is that you are pregnant.
Hope it works out for you
Love, Bianca
good luck -

Hi ladies,
I used to have a very regular cycle, you could set your clock by it.
My husband and I have been trying for about 7 months now and so far nothing. The funny thing is, I'm 5 days late today but the tests are negative, pfff so frustrating. I've been 1.5 weeks late before and still got my period, so I assume this is the case again... By the way, we already have a son who's 2 years old. With him, I got pregnant unplanned, so I thought this would lead to a pregnancy quickly too. pffff I'm going crazy from waiting... It's nice that there are forums like this, then you know you're not the only one! Love, Angela -
Tamtam (Tamara) #131
Hi Angela,
I'm in the same boat as you. Almost 5 days overdue. Tested negative on day 1, and again negative on day 4. I don't really feel pregnant, no symptoms or anything, but it's strange. My cycle was always 29 days, then 28 days last month, and now it's 33 days... I don't get it. But anyway, we're patiently waiting a few more days and will test again.
Any more news from you? -
bianca1986 #132
Hi Angela,
That's so sad, wow I wish those clothes
evil: had stayed with us all for about nine months hihi... Well, let's look forward to the new month, which for me already started on the 20th when I got my period.. So now it's already over and on to the new rounds, and hope that the new month brings lots of positive news..
@ to all of you girls, good luck with this new round..
Hope that you all get two thick pink lines soon..
Good luck and I'm rooting for you all

Hey Tamtam,
So you have an irregular cycle anyway..
So it can't be that you ovulated later..
Then you would also just get your period later
and that would make a lot of things clear.
I had it too, thought I missed my ovulation but it came about five days later, and then my period too pff, those are really uncertain periods so trust what you feel.. Lots of luck with testing, maybe your hcg was still a bit too low and it didn't show up yet, try with morning urine that's the best and who knows you might get a clear test that stands out right away, and otherwise I'd really contact your GP..
Love Bianca
Good luck with everything -
Tamtam (Tamara) #134
Thanks for thinking along, Bianca! I was indeed planning to watch it for another 3 days and then call the GP.
So disappointing, Angela! It can get weird, right? Indeed, back to the next round...
Not really negative yet for me... but I have a strong feeling it'll kick in today. It's always very short anyway, doesn't amount to much.
So off to the next round again. And I'll try testing for ovulation once.
And about that friend, tricky! Of course you wish it for her, but for you/us it is frustrating. Some people assume it's all very easy, and don't realize that for someone else it might not be so; that sometimes frustrates me. Besides, I'm not soooo deeply involved in it yet, and I can let those kinds of things go fairly well.
Good luck, ladies! -
bianca1986 #135
hey angela,
i totally get where you're coming from with what you said..
is it jealousy? i don't think so, i think you're just disappointed why it works for someone else but not for you..
are you a bad person now? well no, not at all, because our feelings are completely justified. if we had a reaction like "oh, nice, doesn't matter to me", then something would be wrong
so it's better that you react this way, right..
i understand it's hard to let go of these thoughts, especially since we're dealing with them 24/7
but don't cry, our time will come too, and as they say, patience is rewarded, and i'm waiting for that,...
lots of love bianca
i wish you all lots of strength with this, and lots of success with everything
and i'm crossing our fingers that it happens quickly

Hi ladies, this forum is really nice, you can actually talk to someone who's in the same boat
Hopefully we can chat happily about all sorts of nasty pregnancy ailments in a little while hihi...
We're going away for a week next week, just some peace and quiet in the tent and who knows what will come of it
How are you doing? Have you not gotten your period yet tam tam?
Have a nice weekend xxx -
Tamtam (Tamara) #137
Hey ladies,
Exactly..... that's how it is, we're assuming our time will come, we just need a bit more patience.
Things are going great for me! I did get my period. In the end, I'm happy about it, you know what I mean, and there's something to be said for that.
Good luck again! Next month
And enjoy your week away!
Cheers! -

I'm also popping in here after reading your stories. I've been wanting a baby for quite a while and have been trying for about 2 months now. So not that long. I stopped the pill five years ago and had no period for over half a year after that. Then I had quite long cycles that kept getting shorter. For the past half year, they've been around 29-31 days, which made me hopeful. Normally, I get light spotting about 4 days before my real period starts. Not this month though. Found it very strange but forced myself to wait until day 31. Unfortunately, tested negative this morning. Don't know what to make of it since it doesn't look like my period is coming. I'm also convincing myself of all sorts of things, which I recognize from your posts. Just have to be patient and wait for my period. -

Hi dress,
It's possible that this cycle is a bit longer. Wait a few more days, then you can take another test. How are you feeling?
You sometimes have to be very patient when trying to get pregnant! You have to wait for your ovulation, for your period, and of course for the birth of the baby. The last one is the most pleasant!
I wish you success in getting pregnant soon. If you want more clarity, you can start using ovulation tests. That way you know when to expect your period and when to test. But you haven't been at it for very long yet; maybe try spontaneously for a few months, every other day.
Good luck!

Hi ladies,
Sorry, I haven't written in a while. I wanted to take a break and not think about it so much! Our week of vacation did a lot of good. I just took a test and it was positive!! I'm so so happy????
So there is hope for everyone who has been trying for a bit longer. This was round 8... Lots of love to all of you, wishing you lots of success!
Love, Angela xxx
