Angela, congratulations! Enjoy your little miracle.
I don't really feel any different than usual. I had a few days of stomach discomfort last week (pretty high up, so more stomach/intestines), but that's been gone since Monday. Nothing else special, so I assume I'll probably get my period in the next few days and that I'm just having a longer cycle this time. For ovulation tests, I think it's indeed still a bit early, especially since things have been pretty regular over the past six months. So I'll try to be extra patient.
Hi Sophia, indeed, it's news. The first signs of period are there. It'll probably really start today. It was bound to happen, of course. But since I had a cycle of between 27-31 days over the past 8 months (so it varies quite a bit) and this time it didn't, you start to think it might be possible it was a hit. So we're going into a new round again. Hopefully just 28 days this time. And not starting off so hard if it takes a bit longer.
It doesn't seem likely that you'd test too early with 9 days past due. You can test from the first day you should have started your period. Maybe there are other reasons why it's taking so long.
Were you regular before? It's possible that your cycle is a bit longer now, so maybe test again in a day or two?
That uncertainty is really tough. A lot of us deal with that. Unfortunately, there's not much else you can do but wait (which isn't my strong suit either) or call your GP if it goes on for too long.
My cycle used to be between 28 and 30 days. Yeah, that uncertainty is really annoying! My body seems to be playing tricks on me. With every little twinge or nauseous feeling, I think, could it be? I'm going to test again on Friday. Who knows, but I don't think so....
Hi ladies, I'm 11 days late with lots of symptoms but keep getting negative tests. Went to the GP yesterday and had blood taken at the hospital. We get the results on Friday. I'm really nervous.
Hi,
I'm feeling unsure. I'm a week overdue, I feel like I should be getting my period but it's not coming. My lower abdomen is pulling. My breasts are incredibly sensitive and swollen. I took a test yesterday but it was negative, yet I still have the feeling that I'm pregnant. What should I do? I'm so anxious.
Hi,
I'm now 8 days late. I've already had 2 negative tests. Could I still be pregnant or is my body just playing tricks on me? We stopped the pill in September, my periods were regular the first month (28 days) and now they're missing..
Has anyone else had this experience?
Greetings
A
A, it could be that you ovulated late. Some people do have a regular cycle at first, then the next month is longer or shorter. The only thing you can do now is wait and have regular sex, because you don’t know exactly when you ovulated yet. I hope your body gets back on track quickly and that you get pregnant soon!
Sophia,
I had serious stomach flu at the beginning of the week, so I went to the doctor. She suggested I get my blood drawn. So on Tuesday I had my blood taken, and on Friday I got the results—my HCG was 25. She said I’m probably pregnant and asked me to do another urine test. I did that on Friday, and it was positive. Next week I’ll have my blood drawn again, and then we’ll know how far along I am.
Thanks for your reply!
Kind regards,
A
I have a question. I've had unbearable back pain for the past two weeks. My period is more than a week late, so I took a test, but unfortunately, it was negative.
Hi ladies,
I had a miscarriage 2.5 months ago..
My IUD was supposed to be inserted next Tuesday.. I took a test yesterday and it's positive..so I'm pregnant. I'm really happy about it, but I've been having severe menstrual cramps for a week now, which made me think I'd just get my period... Now I'm worried because of my miscarriage, stomach pain, and positive test.. What should I do? Call the doctor? It's the weekend..and in their eyes it's not life-threatening.
