When we were trying to get pregnant. We did it every other day. It's also online that this is indeed better. Every day the quality goes down... and I think the tension and enjoyment too...
How excited you all are.. How better the quality and chance of pregnancy..
Our gynecologist recommended it 2-3 times a week. So far, we’ve found that less sex actually leads to pregnancy. When we were consciously trying during our fertile window every other day, nothing happened. But the months when we weren’t actively trying and didn’t have sex too often, we ended up pregnant.
Now I’m pregnant, which means we’ve been taking it easy, and honestly, it really works, hehe. This is our 4th pregnancy using this method.
Remember that sperm can live for 3 to 5 days, with rare exceptions up to 7 or 8 days. Keep in mind that your egg might release a bit earlier or later than expected.
If you’re just starting out, try to keep it at 2-3 times a week so it stays fun and exciting. If you feel like it, go for it. If not, don’t worry about it.
Keep it light and fun!! That’s really important, especially since it can take some time. On average, it takes 6-9 months, but some sources say it can take up to a year to get pregnant, especially if you’ve just stopped using contraception.
Every day! If they don't live long, you actually risk missing the day you don't have sex. But anyway, that's just my opinion . Around ovulation, every day! Maybe pure luck here, but 3 times in a row pregnant... there are so many factors involved, but this was our way and it worked 3 times .
We did it every other day this round too. The advantage is that you have a regular "donation" and thus can't miss your egg! The downside I discovered this morning.. I had a positive ovulation test yesterday, so we did it and I wanted to take the chance for work this morning. So I climbed on top and he liked that! But after three days in a row (sorry for the details in advance) the sperm gets a bit thinner. So after he came and I wanted to get off, most of it was already leaking out unfortunately! In short, every day means I'm under! Do you recognize this and did it still make sense this time?
My gynecologist said that every day is totally fine! You just get less sperm, but in multiple doses :-) and you have less chance of missing out, of course!
With my first two pregnancies, we had sex every morning and evening for two days during ovulation, and it worked 2X right away ;-) it can't be bad then!
Now we're trying for our third little one, round 2!
They say every other day or even two days is best (Google it), so we’re not going for twice a day, okay! We also want to keep it fun, and four times in two days just isn’t for us! But if you find it helpful, I hope it works for you!
Hey Vivian,
I totally get that and it's your choice! It'll probably work out fine ;-)
I had read that online too, but my gynecologist said it's definitely not true that sperm becomes less productive if you're active every day. There's sometimes too much on the internet that isn't always accurate.
I wish you both lots of success! I have to wait until 31/8 to take a test! It's quite nerve-wracking.
Greetings
Hey Vivian, I've been tracking my fertile week 9 times!! 2x a day on the two most fertile days and today my test is positive!!
I think that every day really can work!!
Are you pregnant, Mellie? What super nice news, dear! And of course, you can also just read a lot about the best quality of sperm and that it helps if both are very excited... But sex is sex and you can get pregnant from that
Yay, took a test yesterday and it's positive!! It's very early though, so I don't want to get too excited :-) Thanks!!
Yes, as you say, sex is sex and that's how you can get pregnant, and here it is!
We don’t really think about it in that way, we just do it when we feel like it. Usually not every day, sometimes a few days in a row. Apparently it’s also beneficial if you’re having fun.
