Hey, my 2-year-old son only drinks water and milk, sometimes with a bit of Nesquik mixed in.
Never anything else, he won’t even try it.
Snacks for us are just a small piece of chocolate or sweet (after savory) spread on a slice of bread. Sometimes a plain cookie.
They get juice here, thick juice, and recently the oldest has been getting Fanta, but otherwise they don’t have any soft drinks etc. I try to avoid sugar-free drinks as much as possible since they often contain sweeteners like aspartame which are bad for the brain; I’d rather they get some sugar.
My 3-year-old son rarely drinks water. I tried when he was still a baby, but absolutely no success. However, he has tea with milk at breakfast, milk at lunch, and milk before bed. The rest of the day he drinks bio Diksap, sugar-free of course. No sweets as a habit. On birthdays, during visits, at daycare, etc., he’s allowed to have anything to drink or eat. He also eats low-sodium daily.
My girls got and still have tea at breakfast. I do watch out for colorings though, drinks make kids hyper.
I usually always buy Rosvico multi vitamin drink.
Packets of that to take to school, they have all the vitamins in them and no extra sugar.
They also used to have 2 sugar cubes in their tea. I drink it like that myself too, so why not the children?
They have to drink from packets that are Rosvico multi without added sugar, I still watch out for that. And in between they also sometimes have chocolate milk. I don't do water, I don't like it myself. My husband drinks water and wanted to teach them that at dinner but they don't like it so they drink Rosvico multi
or pure kiwi juice at meals.
I myself never got water at home either so my children don't automatically either, I'm not used to drinking water at all and especially not with meals.
They also drink pure kiwi or orange juice from the supermarket, pure organic.
That's how we do it.
Greetings, Madelene
And what I forgot to mention is:
they are allowed to have candy from us, just candy without colorings, I don't think that's healthy.
1 or only 2 candies a day, we don't do that.
my husband and I believe that if you only let kids have 1 or 2 candies and nothing else, you only make it more interesting for them, hey candy. With the result that later, when they decide for themselves, they will eat too much candy because it was rarely allowed before and thus became interesting.
the kids both choose 1 pack of ice cream because they both like other kinds of ice cream, usually it's pear ice cream, but they are allowed to choose that themselves, each of them chooses 1 pack.
I just don't want them to choose ice creams that are full of colorings, where the dye drips off, just to put it that way.
so they choose from natural fruit ice creams.
and sometimes also Cornetto.
they are allowed 3 ice creams per day, but I always say "once it's gone, it's gone".
usually they limit themselves to 2 ice creams per day.
