We always wanted 3 kids from the start. For the first one, we didn't want to know the gender. When he was born, it turned out to be a boy. I was super happy. But I remember thinking, oh well, I still have 2 chances for a girl. A year later, I got pregnant with number 2. I was sick and had to vomit a lot. Everyone said this one's a girl. But at 16 weeks, it turned out to be a boy again. I needed some time to get used to the idea that it was another boy. Two years later, I got pregnant with number 3. This time, we didn't want to know the gender. We were afraid of being disappointed. We knew that once we saw our baby, the gender wouldn't matter. A few months ago, I gave birth to a daughter. The midwives said afterwards that they rarely saw people so happy. We were euphoric about the birth of our child and the fact that we had become parents of a healthy daughter. -

Lovely stories and shed a little tear here... we'd like to have 2 kids and we now have a boy of 11 months, we'd love a girl! But my mom's side can't make girls..haha already 5 grandsons..would I break the cycle? Will I get an honorary podium later?? On Jan 9 we have the gender determination..my gut says a girl...probably too good to be true..... -

Hi, I'm new here. I've been browsing around on various sites and the stories are very diverse. We already have two sons (7 and 3) and we're hoping for a third. We hope for a healthy baby, but a girl would be really cool. I've read that you can somewhat influence the gender by eating or avoiding certain nutrients. For a girl, this supposedly means a salt-free diet, lots of vegetables and fruit/dairy products, and extra magnesium and calcium. I'm willing to try all that if it increases the chances. It also has to do with when you have intercourse; having it before ovulation is supposed to increase the chance of a girl. My question now is: we had intercourse 2 days after ovulation in the last cycle; before that it wasn't possible due to circumstances. How big is the chance of pregnancy and possibly having a girl? Would love to hear reactions for tips/ideas, thanks in advance, Jett -

We have two inseparable little girls and just found out our third baby will be a boy... Of course, we're mostly happy that he's healthy, but we both really, really wanted a third girl—even shed a little tear... Hopefully, we'll get over it soon, like some of you mentioned above. -

Hi there, I'm Roos. I had written here before that I wanted my fourth child to be a girl, but it turned out to be a boy. I now have four boys. I'd really like to get pregnant again and really hope for a girl this time. But my little one is a treasure; he's now 14 months old. -

I have 2 sons and a deep wish for a girl. I got in touch with someone who had IVF done abroad and ended up having a girl after 3 boys. I looked into it myself. It costs around 20,000 euros. Plus, it was quite a hassle... so we decided not to do it. Meanwhile, I'm pregnant with our third child. My gut says it's a girl, but I don't dare hope for it. A few people I know already have a girl after 2 boys, so statistically mine should be a boy. We'll just have to wait and see... Good luck with your pregnancies! -

Hi, I'm Sara and I'm a mom to 3 boys. We're hoping for a daughter. I know this isn't very accepted, so I don't dare say it anywhere. I've read about adjusting your diet and lifestyle, etc. Are there any moms here who have a specific gender preference and follow a fixed lifestyle?
For boy moms, this would mean eating lots of salt, red meat, and little fruit and dairy.
For girl moms, this would mean drinking lots of dairy, eating fruit, and eating little salt.
I can relate to being a boy mom since filet American, steak, and carpaccio are my favorite foods. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth paying attention to my diet.
My wish is really strong.
Please no judgments as long as it's healthy etc. That's of course the most important thing. -

It's so nice to be able to express your feelings in a normal setting. I have one boy. I'm now 1 week pregnant with another boy. I was surprised at how emotional I reacted. I really want a girl. I feel ungrateful because I can have children, but I want a girl.
