Yes, super exciting!! How are you doing? @cilia? I'm rooting for you that it's successful the first time around.

    I find it really exciting
Tomorrow I'm going to the hospital for an ultrasound. They'll be monitoring how quickly the eggs are maturing. (More ultrasounds will follow.)
Tomorrow, in my opinion, it really starts. A step towards "finally..?" So keep your fingers crossed for me

    @cilia

Exciting, the first ultrasound tomorrow! I only ever had 1 good "ripe" egg in the first 3 times. Last time I had 2 eggs that were supposed to release.. I had the ultrasound on Wednesday morning and on Friday morning, June 16th, the insemination took place. My partner's sperm was also good (72 percent were actively motile after processing), which is actually the case every time. I personally find the two-week wait after insemination the most difficult part. But my breasts are very sensitive, and I normally get that right before my period too. So I'm not getting my hopes up. Let me know how it went tomorrow? I'm rooting for you! Why are you guys actually starting with IUI? I couldn't read the reason????
  4. Cilia Guest #44

@Roxroos, had my first ultrasound today. Everything looked good, and I'm starting Clomid (2 pills a day) tomorrow. I already got Pregnyl as well. Next week I'll have the second ultrasound. I'm so curious! Also curious how my body will react to the medication

Then I just thought, "Suppose everything is physically ready by next weekend," but that's a problem since they don't do treatments on weekends. Maybe I shouldn't think about it too much. What isn't happening now, who knows, maybe next month

We went this route because we've been trying since 2015. Had a miscarriage last year. And my partner's sperm is only mobile but not enough. Plus, I'll be 42 next year... and then you can't just say "oh, practice for another year." With the practice, we're good haha

    @Cilia
Every hospital is different. At ours, they do it on weekends too. And I inject Fostimon as hormones. I've never even heard of tablets. Anyway, good luck! I'm already spotting a little pink blood today. On to round 5???? First, an evaluation appointment at the hospital tomorrow.
  6. Cilia Guest #46

Roxroos, actually it's quite normal that they do IUI on weekends too here they do ultrasounds then. Every hospital has its own methods. Maybe they also check if you're already using medication and that can vary per individual. Every body reacts differently too. Hopefully it all falls just outside the weekends so fun
I'm curious what comes out of your evaluation talk tomorrow. Maybe a different treatment?
  7. Cilia Guest #47

I've done those sensitive tests too but why don't you just test again on Friday evening?
  8. $ophie #48

Were they reliable for you? I still read that they can give false positives... Thinking about Saturday morning, if I don't get my period.
  9. $ophie #49

I've set it as my profile picture. The bottom one is from today..
  10. Cilia Guest #50

I have to say it's been reliable so far for me.

I'd really test again later and then compare. The line should be darker then
  11. $ophie #51

I'll try again tomorrow with first morning urine this one already reacts at 10 instead of 20...
  12. Cilia Guest #52

So you're going to post a picture? (We can compare!)
  13. Cinta Guest #53

Yes, if you've had an injection (Pregnyl/Ovitrelle), it can give a false positive if you test within 14 days after the shot. At least that's what I was told. I'd just skip the wine.
  14. $ophie #54

I haven't started taking Cinta yet. I'll start next round. I expect my period between Friday and Sunday, but I've never been this patient, despite 24 negative tests so far. I'll try again tomorrow and then post a pic if I see anything
  15. Cinta Guest #55

Sorry, maybe I just misunderstood. I had to give myself the trigger shot 2 days before the IUI. Then the ovulation was supposed to happen that day. At least, that's how I understood it. My egg was 20mm when I had to get the shot.
  16. $ophie #56

Okay, I'm starting injections next week once I get my period So this is my last chance.. That makes it even more exciting, I have to say.. I think the impact will be stronger than usual.. :S
  17. $ophie #57

Hmm, unfortunately.. I don't see anything on the test.. Then my period will probably come soon so it's a false positive
  18. skybles #58

    Hi,

I'd like to read along and write here

We're starting IUI in August. That'll be cycle 26 for us.

They haven't found any reason why it hasn't worked out so far, which actually makes me super anxious. My laparoscopy results came back normal, my ovulation is good, my hormones and uterine lining are at the right thickness. My boyfriend's sperm was also in order...

    We're hoping this will help!
First, though, we have to wait out the holiday period... sigh
  19. $ophie #59

Welcome skybles! I'm in exactly the same situation, but I've had an HSG, not a laparoscopy. We're starting Gonal-F and Ovitrelle next week. I've also been on the journey for almost 26 months... Are you getting hormones too??
  20. skybles #60

Yeah, I believe it, but I still don't know what exactly. I have to call in August. So far I've only heard that I'm getting an IUI with .... (and then she said something I didn't understand).

I do have quite a few questions now, but they'll come up later.

I did get a booklet with info, and that was already very enlightening.

I'm really curious how you all handle communicating with the outside world. Our closest friends are already aware of our situation, as well as our parents, brothers, and sisters.
For now, we've decided not to share any news about the treatments with others. More because we don't want to feel pressured, and if we have good news to share, we want to do it on our own terms.
I find it quite difficult because I've also received a lot of support, and I like to keep everyone informed.
