Progesterone levels too low

Hi everyone,

I had a quick question. I had a miscarriage in late September at 7 weeks. After that, I continued trying, but my periods kept coming 3-4 days early, and I’d get pink spotting a week after ovulation. I finally went to the gynecologist with this. She took my blood to check my progesterone levels. If it was below 15, I was supposed to take 200mg of Utrogestan every night. Well, I got lucky and got pregnant right away. I got my blood results (8.5 progesterone) 7-8 days after ovulation, started taking Utrogestan, and a little over a week later I had a positive test. Of course, with a worried heart. Since I found out, I’ve been taking 2x 200mg Utrogestan: one in the morning (vaginally) and one at night (orally). Now my blood has been checked for HCG and progesterone again. My progesterone level was 8.6. So it only rose by 0.1. After all this explanation, my question is: does Utrogestan actually enter your bloodstream, or does it just stay in the uterus? It feels weird that I’m taking Utrogestan but my blood levels aren’t rising. Or do blood levels not rise due to Utrogestan? Hope the question is clear enough. Thanks in advance!

    Hi hi ,

I think Utrogestan is mainly to keep the lining of your uterus thick for implantation and afterwards (if you're pregnant, you'll need to continue the medication for a while) and for blood circulation..
That's what I thought, so don't take it too seriously.
It's also my first time using it.
