1-0 for the other side, what is this, are we playing foosball or something? Are we keeping score on who scores more points? Honestly, I find this quite childish, and ladies, think about your health, don't get so worked up, but that's just my opinion. The person you can't stand gets attention this way too. Greetings, anonymous

Hi Crumb and Linda33, I honestly don't quite get all the fuss. Rianna has a strong opinion, sure, but otherwise, she leaves everyone to their own devices, right?

Very clear and beautifully written, I completely agree with you. I totally support that.

I'm complimenting you on how well you've written this. I couldn't have explained it better. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I got so many negative comments thrown at me.

    Greetings, Sanne

I just wanted to say that I apparently come across as harsh, but that's something my own husband tells me too. I'm very direct, but it's never my intention to insult or hurt anyone. I don't sugarcoat what I think, even with my own kids; I can sometimes be too direct or harsh. My husband often accuses me of this, while I'm just trying to be honest.

something to explain to them at that moment that I wanted to share, greetings Rianna

Maybe she had dyslexia after all.
It's indeed full of mistakes, but who are we to judge someone else, I guess I'll just think that again.
    We don't know her background.
    Nobody is perfect, right?

    Hi Jantine,

I was wondering if you found good info on weaning and how it went for you.

I completely understand your frustration :-) I feel like there's no point in searching for breastfeeding info online because you mostly just come across 'promotional sites'. LLL, VBN, breastfeeding.com. It's also amazing how people get indoctrinated into thinking that breastfeeding is the best for the baby (admittedly, the most natural! And personally, I'm not a fan of synthetic stuff either), but if you think for yourself and look for scientific studies on the benefits of BF, you'll find that the effects are negligible, minimal, if any. Soooo. I'm crazy about my little guy, but I'm practically losing my mind due to sleeplessness and pain from clogged milk ducts (I've always been sensitive to lumps etc., even before pregnancy), and I naturally have super-sensitive nipples. I won't let myself be made to feel like I'm latching him wrong. Long live reason.

    Best,

I also gave my two little girls formula, for example. It's not easy, I'll admit that. You're up all night with it, and it really takes a toll on your sleep and rest. My husband offered to take turns doing night feeds, so he could give the bottle and I could get some sleep, but I declined.

I felt that I'm the mother and, well, I should just be there for my kids. If that means I have it a bit harder and get less sleep, then so be it.

That's how I kept going. It wasn't easy, but those first months are really about the baby, not about me.

Those first few months of their lives are when I could really do what's best for their health, so that was important to me.

And it's not just about health; it's also about attachment and building a strong bond with your baby.

But, well, everyone does it in their own way.

In the end, we all want the same thing for our kids. You want the best for your baby, whether you're a breastfeeding or bottle-feeding mom.

I think it would be nice if we could respect each other's opinions on this.

    Greetings, Madelene

Plus, what I also think is that sometimes it doesn't work out with giving the bottle, and some mothers really want to do that, which is really sad. I think more help should be provided.
